I wiped the dir. and DL the file again (https://download.calibre-ebook.com/b...-5.99.7.tar.xz, (sha256: cba789af28dc4cd097755e16e63ae5b3fc0d98254f9be2a9e2 c08a035658fb0a, space inside sha is added by this bb-editor and must be deleted), resulting dir, unpacked, is 382,483,553 bytes, but I still get the same error.
I tried to DL (as a zip) the git-branch qt6, same version and same error (resulting dir is 48,872,261 bytes). Options -w and -g of calibre-debug give me the same exception. Anyway, I'll use the 5.99.7 binaries, so it's not a problem for me, as far as it's ok for you. Last edited by lomkiri; 02-09-2022 at 12:28 PM. |

Just noticed the Comments column has lost its header ("Comments") in Book Details in 5.99.7 - not sure if it was like that in prior 5.99 releases. OK in 5.36. Without it there's no separation between custom HTML long text columns and Comments column.
The Comments header was added to Book Details display when Long Text columns were enhanced, and I don't think there should be two fields titled "Column heading" in long text definitions. BR Last edited by BetterRed; 02-11-2022 at 05:06 AM. |

I think that somehow this preference was changed to "Never". Setting it to one of the other choices works for me.

Charles,
I noticed quite a few Look and Feel type tweaks, also got forgotten (My field orders on the form, reverted to default positions. Might have happened earlier in the Beta) |

As for the field order, as I said here I didn't migrate that one. |

Maybe I shouldn't have. Yet on macOS Monterey 12.3 beta, launching calibre crashes:

That will most likely be the parasites at apple leaching of libxml2, they are a trillion dollar company and libxml2 is currently without a maintainer. Makes me extremely angry. They are linking various of their system frameworks against libxml2 these days and they use incompatible versions, causing endless headaches. It's a real shame libxml2 uses an MIT license instead of the GPL3. I'll look into sometime when I have a moment.
EDIT: https://github.com/kovidgoyal/calibr...a0bbe2305056f7 I was wrong its libexpat not libxml2 in this case Last edited by kovidgoyal; 02-16-2022 at 05:12 AM. |

Where is located the theme folder now? I can't find it. It's not on '/config_dir/resources/images' anymore. Windows 10 Pro x64 21H2 calibre beta 5.99.7 |

There's no folder anymore icons are loaded from Qt resource files. You can still override individual icons using resources/images, but the actual themes are in compiled Qt resource files.
