AFAIUI, this is pre-release firmware. (And now with Likebook Mars released and Likebook Plus no more manufactured, I fear release will never appear.) As for getting Android 6, it was pointed by fernruben that chipset manufacturer does not support Android above 4.4. The pre-release firmware still have Android 4.2.2

People who wish to try pre-release firmware should bear in mind that some users reported that flashsing it left their devices bricked. (To myself it didn't happen).

It's an open source Manga reader app. According to the minimal sdk version it should work but I'm not sure...

If you upgraded from v1.* firmware you should have noticed visual changes. BTW, the new launcher in v2.0 firmware aka Boyue OS doesn't have Russian localisation, so if your system language is set to Russian, it shows up in Chinese. Assuming reading English is easier for you that reading Chinese, you might consider setting system language to English.

I have a T80 with firmware 1.0.2. One of the post said that I can restore to 2.0 so I followed it and found my reader bricked (can't seem to turn on). In my panic, I restored it to 1.0.1 and it was still bricked. And then I restore 2.0 on top of 1.0.1 and it came up with a new wall paper with a boat. Before it is like a boat on a river in a city.

I like the new version much better. Seem faster response rate. The dictionary is very fast and when close, not a black screen refresh. Only the dictionary is English to chinese. Then when I tried Koreader, it works smoothly. Before Koready crashed all the time opening a majority of my epubs (some is ok). So I think i'll stick with Koreader on this ROM as it can use external dictionary and I can reduce the margin. Somehow I'm fine with the margin of the old FBReader but the new default reader has bigger margin.

I noticed on a chinese website, they have two version of ROM: one for local chinese and one for international. Maybe the international version has external dictionary? If it is the case, I will switch back to the default reader for the performance and dictionary.

The upgrade is buying the Boyue Likebook Mars. New hardware and new OS/software. Similar (identical?) form factor.

My old Boyue Likebook Plus works fine. It doesn't need any upgrade. But Mars is better.

I had no problem flashing from 1.0.2 directly to a ver2. You can not use the zip file update procedure going from ver1 to ver2.

That said, with exception to a somewhat more pleasant home screen, ver2 is pretty rough around the edges... especially for non-Chinese readers. The built-in reader is locked to a Chinese dictionary. The latest 2018081714 doesn’t show Google Play Store and has a habit of “losing” other apps until reboot. All apps are available through another launcher but what’s the point of upgrading of you use another launcher?

If I wasn’t so lazy, I’d have flashed back to 1.0.2 by now.

You've convinced me. I will stay on 1.0.2.

Other thing that I've realized is that the 1.0.2 version that comes with the reader is 1.0.2 2018060114, that is from June, while the other one posted on the first page is v1.0.2-2018010215, that is from January. Maybe this is the reason some people brick the reader cause the first 2.0.0 version is 2018052616 from May.

Other than that I think Moon Reader doesn't work well on fullscreen mode, every time I press to turn the page it shows the status bar. It's annoying. In my tablet works flawlessly. Is there any way to avoid the bar shows up?
