That industry insider, btw, makes his living as a consultant to tradpub. How many accounts would he keep if he publicly told people (authors!) that the reason their income went down was the publishers' fault?

The comment I saw came to him *third hand* via an agent.

You're suggesting a false dichotomy.
Amazon could simply be making the best of it whether they especially wanted it compared to other options or not.

Big successful companies aren't nesscarily the most moral ones,that's how big business has and will always be.

It's like complaining about Walmart or tescos for putting plenty of smaller shops out of business, why bring all this up now?

If you want everyone to live by a level playing field maybe you'd be better off moving to a communist country,modern capatalim sucks

Hi. It seems every thread about Amazon turns into a Amazon is awesome vs Amazon is evil thread.

Not just here but all Amazon based threads in forums.

My personal opinion on that tweet is Jeff wanted to stir the pot and maybe possibly find out what some of his customers would like to see in a kindle.

I think this because he said details not a new Kindle would be out next week.

That's entirely normal. Amazon often announce new products that don't actually go on sale for a month or two.

Whatever it is I hope he announces it early in the week and not the following Sunday,don't want this thread to get too much out of hand

Regardless of what Amazon might of done in the past it's not as if other big players in the tech space such as Micro$oft,Google or Apple haven't tried to monopolise and centralise the markets to each of their respective dominant platforms,THEY ARE ALL GUILTY!

I would advise everyone on here to get their pre-order in sharpish even if we have to wait a month out,the voyage if I remember had a wait time of upto a month after it released here in the uk shortly after launch.

I hope it's a better grayscale reader rather than a good enough color reader. I have an OLED tablet. That's now my standard for a good color screen. LCD is "good enough." Sub LCD ... ugh.

Better in which ways?
Better contrast? Battery life? Weight? New features?

The main interest is in the high ender, not the accompanying low end model so what would you like to see in a new top kindle?

Me, I'd be interested in 8in with a plastic substrate display to keep the weight down. Color optional. Audio/Alexa integration would rank higher than color, really.
