Sydney's Mom, your daughter cracks me up!!
I wonder, if you told it to play back a French TuneIn channel, would it understand an English accent, or would you need to say it with the correct french accent? I found that the Fire tV remote had a really hard time with foreign titles.

Got it in today. So far I like it. Great for weather, spelling words, playing music, especially songs by name. It knows who Amazon's CEO is and how old he is, but couldn't answer who owns audible.com or if she was using Ivona for her speech.

I really like it. I think once Amazon expands what it can do its going to be much nicer then always picking up your phone and pushing a button to get an answer. The always on is really nice.

I've decided I'm going to define and pass on the gen1 Echo. Why? After the K1, KF1 I should know better than to trust Amazon gen1 devices. They all felt rushed and we're pretty much abandoned by Amazon quickly.

So, much as I feel the Echo is a very cool product I'm backing away from the be a beta tester queue... Gen2 or gen3 is where my cash is gonna go. I really do think the Echo and other similar products moved us much over to this actually being the future, today.

I would like to see Echo be able to stream any of your audible books or read any of my kindle books. Like text to speech. That would be an awesome feature for a lot of people.

Email them and tell them.
Lots of people are asking for that and given that Echo runs off FireOS they *can* do it. Mostly it comes down to the audible folks playing ball with Lab126.

Yep, I sent them feedback yesterday. This is what I asked for.

Add items to my wish list.
Instead of printing shopping list, email it to myself as a PDF or just in email so I can take it with me on my phone. I don't know anyone that takes printed lists out with them anymore.
Answer what an item l like the Kindle Voyager, or a specific ebook title costs in their store.
Link up to my audible account so I can play books on demand.
Link up to any of my ebooks in my Kindle Library and read text to speech for me.

I asked that it be able to play Prime radio stations. I stream Alternative on my Fire, and it works well. But the Echo sounds better. No ads!
