Peter F. Hamilton's The Void Trilogy is now available, it contains these three books:
  • The Dreaming Void
  • The Temporal Void
  • The Evolutionary Void
These are really thick books, book 1: 607 pages, book 2: 674 pages, book 3: 705 pages. (Frankly, I'm not sure Hamilton is capable of writing a short novel. ) But they are also quite good, and I enjoyed them immensely. If you've read his previous two book Commonwealth Saga, these are set in the same universe approximately 1,000 years later. Some of the characters from those books return, but you don't have to have read the previous ones to enjoy this trilogy.

Overall description:
Spoiler:
Quote:
Peter F. Hamilton’s extraordinary far-future epics recall the golden age of science fiction, as practiced by Isaac Asimov and Robert Heinlein. Nowhere is that legacy more in evidence than in The Void Trilogy. Taking place twelve hundred years after the events of Hamilton’s Commonwealth novels, The Dreaming Void, The Temporal Void, and The Evolutionary Void are Hamilton at his most ambitious and daringly imaginative—and now all three are together for the first time in this addictive eBook bundle.

Contains an exhilarating preview of Peter F. Hamilton’s highly anticipated novel, The Abyss Beyond Dreams, set in the same universe as The Void Trilogy.

The year is 3589. At the very heart of the galaxy is the Void, a self-contained microuniverse that cannot be stopped as it expands in all directions, consuming everything in its path. Even the oldest and most technologically advanced of the galaxy’s sentient races, the Raiel, do not know its origin or its purpose. Then Inigo, an astrophysicist, begins having vivid dreams. Inside the Void, Inigo sees paradise. Thanks to the gaiafield, a neural entanglement wired into most humans, those dreams are shared by hundreds of millions—and a religion, the Living Dream, is born, with Inigo as its prophet. But then he vanishes.

A new wave of dreams broadcast by an unknown Second Dreamer serves as the impetus for a massive Pilgrimage into the Void, which could trigger an accelerated devourment phase that will swallow up thousands of worlds. Thus begins a desperate race to find Inigo and avert catastrophe.

Individual book descriptions:
Spoiler:

The Dreaming Void
Quote:
Reviewers exhaust superlatives when it comes to the science fiction of Peter F. Hamilton. His complex and engaging novels, which span thousands of years–and light-years–are as intellectually stimulating as they are emotionally fulfilling. Now, with The Dreaming Void, the eagerly awaited first volume in a new trilogy set in the same far-future as his acclaimed Commonwealth saga, Hamilton has created his most ambitious and gripping space epic yet.

The year is 3589, fifteen hundred years after Commonwealth forces barely staved off human extinction in a war against the alien Prime. Now an even greater danger has surfaced: a threat to the existence of the universe itself.
At the very heart of the galaxy is the Void, a self-contained microuniverse that cannot be breached, cannot be destroyed, and cannot be stopped as it steadily expands in all directions, consuming everything in its path: planets, stars, civilizations. The Void has existed for untold millions of years. Even the oldest and most technologically advanced of the galaxy’s sentient races, the Raiel, do not know its origin, its makers, or its purpose.

But then Inigo, an astrophysicist studying the Void, begins dreaming of human beings who live within it. Inigo’s dreams reveal a world in which thoughts become actions and dreams become reality. Inside the Void, Inigo sees paradise. Thanks to the gaiafield, a neural entanglement wired into most humans, Inigo’s dreams are shared by hundreds of millions–and a religion, the Living Dream, is born, with Inigo as its prophet. But then he vanishes.

Suddenly there is a new wave of dreams. Dreams broadcast by an unknown Second Dreamer serve as the inspiration for a massive Pilgrimage into the Void. But there is a chance that by attempting to enter the Void, the pilgrims will trigger a catastrophic expansion, an accelerated devourment phase that will swallow up thousands of worlds.

And thus begins a desperate race to find Inigo and the mysterious Second Dreamer. Some seek to prevent the Pilgrimage; others to speed its progress–while within the Void, a supreme entity has turned its gaze, for the first time, outward. . . .
The Temporal Void
Quote:
Long ago, the astrophysicist Inigo began dreaming scenes from the life of the remarkable Edeard, who lived within the Void, a self-contained microuniverse at the heart of the galaxy. Inigo’s inspirational dreams, shared by hundreds of millions throughout the galaxy, gave birth to a religion: Living Dream. But when the appearance of a Second Dreamer seems to trigger the expansion of the Void—which is devouring everything in its path—the Intersolar Commonwealth is thrown into turmoil.

With time running out, the fate of humanity hinges on a handful of people: Araminta, now awakening to the unwelcome fact that she is the mysterious Second Dreamer; Inigo, whose private dreams hint at a darker truth; and Justine, whose desperate gamble places her within the Void, where the godlike Skylords hold the power to save the universe . . . or destroy it.
The Evolutionary Void
Quote:
Exposed as the Second Dreamer, Araminta has become the target of a galaxywide search by
others equally determined to prevent—or facilitate—the pilgrimage into the Void. An indestructible microuniverse, the Void may contain paradise, but it is also a deadly threat. For the reality that exists inside its boundaries demands energy drawn from planets, stars, galaxies—from everything that lives.

Meanwhile, the story of Edeard, the Waterwalker, continues to unfold. With time running out, Inigo, the First Dreamer, must decide whether to release Edeard’s dangerous final dream. And Araminta must choose whether to run from her responsibilities or face them down, with no guarantee of success or survival. But all these choices may be for naught if the leader of a rival faction enters the Void. For it is not paradise she seeks there, but dominion.

Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Google, iTunes, Kobo

There is an omnibus edition of his Commonwealth Saga novels, but it's ridiculously overpriced and is significantly cheaper to buy the individual books. It also costs more than this three book bundle.

Bella Wallis - A Victorian Mystery Quartet by Brian Thompson is published by Vintage Digital, which is a Random House brand, but still seems (for the moment anyway) to be couponable on Kobo Canada, which means some of the codes from the current (ended yesterday) contest will work on it. Or, at least, I got one to work...

The quartet contains:

The Widow's Secret
The Sailor's Ransom
The Player's Curse
The Whole Story

blurb:
Spoiler:
Quote:
Bella Wallis is a glamorous widow with a secret identity: in an office buried deep within the dodgy backstreets of Victorian London, she writes sensationalist novels exposing the scoundrels that litter high society under the pen name Henry Ellis Margam. With dodgy deals, scheming aristocrats and stolen kisses behind closed doors, prize-winning author Brian Thompson conjures up an irresistible quartet filled top to toe with seedy Dickensian glamour.

We start with The Widow's Secret, an effervescent romp to Paris on the trail of the owner of a mysterious cigar case; then The Sailor's Ransom, a tale of pearls and swine, set on the Cornish coast and the high seas; and The Player's Curse, where kidnap, cricket and cross-dressing coincide in a riotous mystery. We end with the previously unpublished The Whole Story, in which Bella is caught up in an anarchist bomb attack at her favourite restaurant, Fracatelli's on the Strand... and only just survives to tell the tale.

Two bundles of books by Ian Hamilton are available which comprise the entire (to date) Ava Lee mystery/thriller series. Both bundles are couponable in the Kobo Canada store - I just tried with a lower value coupon just now, and the coupon was accepted, although I didn't actually purchase. So hopefully they might be couponable with a higher value coupon from the next contest.

I have read the first two books in this series, and although thriller-ish mysteries aren't usually my thing, I enjoyed these enough to buy the rest of the series if a good coupon comes along again.

The first bundle contains a prequel and the first two books; the second bundle contains books 3 - 5.

The Ava Lee Series Bundle 1
The Water Rat of Wanchai: Book 1, The Disciple of Las Vegas: Book 2, and The Dragon Head of Hong Kong: The Ava Lee Prequel
House of Anansi Press Inc, December 2013
Imprint: Spiderline
ISBN: 9781770898271
Spoiler:
Quote:
First of 2 exclusive bundles, including books 1 and 2 of the wildly popular Ava Lee Series plus the never before published prequel.

This bundle includes:

In The Water Rat of Wanchai, Ava travels across continents to track $5 million owed by a seafood company. But it’s in Guyana where she meets her match: Captain Robbins, a huge hulk of a man and godfather-like figure who controls the police, politicians, and criminals alike. In exchange for his help, he decides he wants a piece of Ava’s $5 million action and will do whatever it takes to get his fair share . . .

In The Disciple of Las Vegas, forensic accountant Ava Lee is hired by the richest man in the Philippines to recover $50 million from a Canadian land swindle. With the billionaire’s reputation on the line, she follows the money from Vancouver to Las Vegas, to the Costa Rican accounts of the Moneida, a First Nations band that owns The River, a poker web site.

After uncovering an illegal online gambling ring, she confronts one of the world poker greats, David “The Disciple” Douglas, and his partner, Jeremy Ashton. Meanwhile, Jackie Leung, an old target of Uncle’s and Ava’s, has made it rich. He wants revenge, and he’s going after Ava to get it.

Young Ava Lee is a forensic accounting who has just opened her own private firm. One of her clients, Hedrick Lo, has been swindled of more than a million dollars by a Chinese importer named Johnny Kung. Desperate, Lo persuades Ava to find and retrieve the monies owed. In The Dragon Head of Hong Kong, we follow Ava as she she plunges into the dangerous underground collection business and meets a man who will forever change her life . . .

The Ava Lee Series Bundle 2
The Wild Beasts of Wuhan: Book 3, The Red Pole of Macau: Book 4, The Scottish Banker of Surabaya: Book 5
House of Anansi Press Inc, December 2013
Imprint: Spiderline
ISBN: 9781770898295
Spoiler:
Quote:
Exclusive bundle of books 3, 4, and 5 in the wildly popular Ava Lee series.

This bundle includes:

In The Wild Beasts of Wuhan, Uncle and Ava are summoned by Wong Changxing, “The Emperor of Hubei” and one of the most powerful men in China, when he discovers that the Fauvist paintings he recently acquired are in fact forgeries.

Ava uncovers a ring of fraudulent art dealers and follows their twisted trail to Denmark, the Faroe Islands, Dublin, London, and New York. But the job is further complicated by Wong’s second wife, the cunning and seductive May Ling, who threatens to interfere in Ava’s investigation. Will Ava find the perpetrators and get the Wongs’ money back? Or will May Ling get to them first . . .

In The Red Pole of Macau, Ava’s half-brother Michael is desperate to pull out of a multi-million-dollar real estate deal in the territory of Macau. The developers are threatening to halt construction unless Michael and his business partner put up another $80 million; the bank is looking for repayment on their loan; and her father is prepared to sell everything to protect his first-born son. As Ava follows the money trail, she finds herself drawn deeper and deeper into Hong Kong’s dark and deadly world of organized crime.

In the fifth installment, The Scottish Banker of Surabaya, Ava begins an investigation into what she thinks is a Ponzi scheme. The trail leads her to a bank in Indonesia that is run by a Scot, but in actuality is a front for an elaborate money-laundering operation for Italian mobsters. The relationship between Ava and the Scotsman turns nasty and personal. Meanwhile, Uncle’s health problems become apparent . . .

There are two bundles in Jill Downie's Moretti and Falla mystery series, set on the island of Guernsey. One has the first two books in the series, and the other has the first three books. I'm only providing a blurb for the one with three books.

Moretti and Falla Mysteries 3-Book Bundle
Dundurn, September 2014, ISBN: 9781459730106
  • Daggers and Men's Smiles
  • A Grave Waiting
  • Blood Will Out
blurb:
Spoiler:
Quote:
This triple edition of the Moretti and Falla Mystery series presents Jill Downie's acclaimed police novels, set on the English Channel island of Guernsey.

Daggers and Men's Smiles: Lights! Camera! Action! On the English Channel island of Guernsey, Detective Inspector Ed Moretti and his new partner, Liz Falla, investigate vicious attacks on Epicure Films. Moretti must consolidate his working relationship with Falla, and establish whether the murders on Guernsey go beyond the island.

A Grave Waiting: Guernsey police detectives Ed Moretti and Liz Falla are called in to investigate the shooting death of arms dealer Bernard Masterson on the Just Desserts, his luxury yacht. With the knowledge that there's nowhere to hide in a world as small as his island, Moretti searches for answers before a violent showdown.

Blood Will Out: Detective Inspector Ed Moretti and his partner, Detective Sergeant Liz Falla, have to deal with murder as well as what appears to be vampirism on Guernsey in the Channel Islands. The pressure is on Moretti and Falla to uncover the real reason before the attacker strikes again.

Moretti and Falla Mysteries 2-Book Bundle
Dundurn, June 2013, ISBN: 9781459722156
  • Daggers and Men's Smiles
  • A Grave Waiting
Both are available and couponable in the Kobo Canada store, so hopefully will work with a future contest coupon...

The Jack Taggart Mysteries 8-Book Bundle contains all eight (according to the Stop You're Killing Me website) of the Jack Taggart Mysteries by Don Easton.
  • Loose Ends
  • Above Ground
  • Angel in the Full Moon
  • Samurai Code
  • Dead Ends
  • Birds of a Feather
  • Corporate Asset
  • The Benefactor
blurb:
Spoiler:
Quote:
Now available in one bundle for the first time, the first eight books of the Jack Taggart Mystery series are gathered together, including the latest mystery, The Benefactor.

"Ripped from the headlines ... Easton, an ex-Mountie, knows his police work." - Globe and Mail

"One of the best hard-nosed series in Canada." - Hamilton Spectator

"Swift action, sudden violence and compassion told in a style that keeps you turning the pages. Easton is a writer at the top of his game." - Hamilton Spectator

"Filled with moments of sheer terror that will keep the readers turning pages faster and faster as it builds." - Bookgasm.com

The Benefactor - Jack Taggart Mystery #8 (NEW!)
Jack Taggart finds himself involved with an Asian organized crime syndicate when he begins investigating a fatal hit-and-run accident. Unbeknownst to Taggart, the murder was arranged at the request of a rogue Chinese spy, who has drawn up a deadly plan to hide his trail.

Corporate Asset - Jack Taggart Mystery #7
Undercover operative Taggart descends into a world of white-collar crime and murder. Setting himself up as bait to be murdered, Taggart races against time to stop a rapist and catch a serial killer.

Birds of a Feather - Jack Taggart Mystery #6
Taggart discovers a Canadian link to a Mexican drug cartel and penetrates the organization. Taggart is sent to El Paso, where he is partnered with U.S. Customs agent Adams. What neither Taggart nor Adams know is they've been paired for a secret purpose.

Includes 5 more Jack Taggart titles:
Dead Ends - Jack Taggart Mystery #5
Samurai Code - Jack Taggart Mystery #4
Angel in the Full Moon - Jack Taggart Mystery #3
Above Ground - Jack Taggart Mystery #2
Loose Ends - Jack Taggart Mystery #1

The bundle is available and couponable in the Kobo Canada store, at least, so hopefully will work with a future contest coupon someday. There is also a 7 book bundle available, without the eighth and most recent book, The Benefactor, but they are the same price, at least in Canada, so not sure why anyone would buy the 7 book bundle.

BTW, these last two that I posted, together with a number from earlier in this thread, are Dundurn Press bundles, and there are a bunch of other Dundurn Press bundles available - enough that I'm not going to list them all.

From Wikipedia:
Quote:
Dundurn Press is the largest Canadian-owned book publishing company of adult and children’s fiction and non-fiction in Canada. Focusing on works of Canadian literature, history, biography, politics and arts, Dundurn has more than 2500 titles in print and currently publishes more than 100 new titles each year.
Here's a link for a "Dundurn bundle" search in the Kobo Canada store which gives 89 bundles, but given the total abysmal-ness of Kobo's search engine, I'm wouldn't swear this is either complete or totally accurate.

http://store.kobobooks.com/en-CA/sea...e&fcmedia=Book

If you want to look at the authors who are published by Durdurn, and thus apparently are pretty likely to have a bundle available, you can check their website, here:

http://dundurn.com/authors

Now if they would just get the backlist rights to one of my favorite Canadian mystery authors, Alison Gordon, and publish her backlist, I'd be pretty happy...

The Defiance Series Complete Collection by C. J. Redwine
ISBN: 9780062372802

While the other girls in the walled city-state of Baalboden learn to sew and dance, Rachel Adams learns to track and hunt. While they bend like reeds to the will of their male Protectors, she uses hers for sparring practice. The Defiance series by C. J. Edited to make the ISBN more obvious.

The OP wishes to have the ISBN present, but he does not mention that it should ONLY be the ISBN:

"I think it might be a good idea to share a list of omnibus/collected editions you've come across. Please include the ISBN number and genre."

Having a link would also be helpful.

The problem is that which collections/bundles are couponable, by which publisher, with which coupon, and in which Kobo store(s) varies all the time. So a link is not nearly as helpful as an ISBN for the specialized purpose of this thread, which was to share bundles which could be used with high-value Kobo coupons - assuming, of course, we ever get any more of them . And with Kobo's terrible search engine, it can be hard to find a specific collection/bundle/publisher without the ISBN.

For example, the most recent Kobo contest codes have only been good in US, UK and Canada, so a link to a collection/bundle in the Kobo India store wouldn't help nearly as much as the ISBN, which lets me quickly see if the same collection/bundle is available and couponable in the US, UK or Canada. I suppose I can always open the Kobo India link and then get the ISBN for myself, but why take the extra step if the ISBN does the trick.

So, although I don't mind if folks post links, I really hope folks don't stop posting ISBN's.

Having a link would also be helpful.

I hope this link is permanent but B&N has a page for bundles . You can then sort out by genre. Each product page has the ISBN so that you can look for the bundle you want on another store quite easily.

This thread has somewhat lost its purpose as high-value Kobo coupons are harder and harder to come by, and the coupons are more geo-restricted, but sometimes there are still some good collections or omnibuses out there.

I recently spotted the The Britt Montero Series (Omnibus Edition) on Kobo US. This contains the first five books in the (wait for it!) Britt Montero mystery series, set in Miami, by Edna Buchanan. These all came out in the 1990's in DTB, and I read them all at the time, and enjoyed them. It's couponable at Kobo US, at least, and at $9.99 for the five books, is not a bad deal even if you don't have a coupon.

The five books are:
  • Contents Under Pressure
  • Miami, It's Murder
  • Suitable for Framing
  • Act of Betrayal
  • Margin of Error

SYNOPSIS

"Montero's a charmer and her story seethes with the street-life that her creator knows so well: first-rate entertainment."—KIRKUS REVIEWS

New York Times bestselling author Edna Buchanan brings the heat to Miami with her Britt Montero series, about a crime reporter who always finds herself in the middle of the story—and the action.

Being a crime reporter in the sun and the sin of Miami is a full-time job, one Britt Montero does better than anyone else. But when you get that close to the criminal underworld, things have a way of sucking you in. In these five novels of suspense, perfect for fans of Sara Paretsky and Michael Connelly, Pulitzer Prize-winning reporter Edna Buchanan sets her heroine loose on some of the most charged crimes in Miami, and reminds readers that you don’t necessarily have to live to make the front page…
