It works great on my Kindle Fire HD2 that was the first thing I put it on. I'm not sure if the developer realizes the Fires are just like any other tablet. It should work fine on yours I bet it will work on the original Fire too.

This is for non Kindle books by the way. I am using it with epub which opens in either Moon+ or Mantano.

Just read his comment which was a very long time ago. If you are going to use it with Kindle books read this post first. After reading what he says if you going to use CC for epub it will work on any Kindle Fire so no worries there.

Make sure when you transfer it you put it in Audiobooks. If you put it in Music the shuffle may be on and play them out of order. There is a button by the path on the transfer wizard to change folders. You have to do this each time you transfer a book because it wont remember the settings.

Brian explained it perfectly. With CC and a high res tablet, my e-ink readers are now way behind in functionality. They have a few advantages (size, weight, battery life) but if I was to choose only one, I would choose my Nexus 7.2. I think it has a better battery life than my Nook HD. I was able to wirelessly transfer over 4000 items and it was fast and didn't drain the battery much. (CC drains the battery on my Nook much faster). Plus I am able to switch between my Calibre libraries much quicker (less freezing of Calibre).

If I want to create a reading list, I can add a tag such as 2013 TBR to some books. Next time I connect CC, the tag will be added to the books on the tablet. Then if I want to find my list, just go to 'tags,' '2' and there it is.

I will keep the eink readers I have, but am unlikely to buy any more. They seem outdated and clunky compared to using CC with a good tablet.

I agree eInk is great for my tired eyes but my N.7.2 is the best I own. Now I put CC on there even though Mantano does organization Moon+ does not. So now I can really see my books and this is much faster than exporting from Dropbox. Now I wish there was way to send my Kindle books via wireless from Calibre without them being added to CC that would make it perfect!

We need a Calibre wireless tranfer app.

Up until very recently Amazon had CC marked as incompatible with the Fire's, much like they have various reading apps marked. I think the dev info on Amazon is a remnant of that time, that and folks hoping to use it to organize their Kindle books (it can be done IIRC, but takes some extra work).

I am using it for epub books so it works really well for me. One feature I would love would be the ability for it display custom columns names instead the lookup name or being able to rename them myself.

When I got my tablet last year, I used these instructions from Cdesja5 [she helped me with my Sony T1 too and I think this post was from that forum or in the tablet forum, not sure, just copied the link down with my instructions] This is how I sync my Samsung Tablet with my Calibre library and I use Aldiko to read on it. Not sure if this is helpful to anyone here or not but thought I'd post it.
ETA: Remember I am NOT a techie person so just posted this because it was easy and worked for me, not sure if this is even along the same lines as what you guys are talking about!

That is using Calibre content server I believe. It's different from the wireless option in CC where you choose the books on Calibre on your computer and click send from Calibre and it sends the books over through a wireless connection which is pretty awesome. I did 60 books at one time in less than a minute! It's super easy to do too.
