Sounds plenty angsty. I may have to go ahead and take a chance on it.
I own it as I belong to the Crimson Romance club. I skim through it just now just mainly to look at the writing style and now have put it on maybe to read list. lol My TBR list is too long already.

Whew, glad that's settled!

But as others have said, the discussions seldom stray from the main gist of the thread, and I really enjoy them. I hope they get to continue without offending anybody.

As to the Sylvia Day/Crossfire discussion, I agree with most of you. This seems like a money-grab and too dragged out for my taste. After reading just a couple of reviews/comments about it, I'm not interested as it sounds like a rehash [read: stretching out to make money for the author.]

Still haven't bought 1 book today, that's 2 days in a row.

PS: Thanks to pdurrant for the clarification, hope we get to continue!
I'm so no longer interested in the Crossfire series. Three books, OK; five books, nope.

I've only bought one book so far for the week; I feel all weird and twitchy

For UF, exactly, that's different. That's not a romance novel. I read UF, scifi, fantasy, and have no issue following the same character all around. But for romance, no, not what I want at all.

I've only bought one serial and I doubt if I'll buy any more. I don't like the concept at all.

Thank you! I read probably no more than half a dozen romance novels a year, yet I love this thread for all the chatter about the bargains and freebies. It alerts me to the books I'll consider reading. Plus it is the liveliest, most fun thread at MR.

Same with Cozies like Stephanie Plum or Cat Deluca series I can read several novels but with romance I think 3 is my limit for the same couple.

Grrr, wouldn't you know it. I paid full price!! On the other hand, I just loved the Meljean Brook novella. It's what I bought it for and the only one read so far.

I don't have an issue with the number, but this book is just sex, sex, sex. Very anatomical, not very romantic. I'm 34% done, and am hoping there is a plot soon. I loved the first book, it was so romantic. The second was kind of a mess, but the plot was compelling. I don't see much of a plot with this one, and cringe at the sex (and I love NA), but hope there is a plot coming.

I really enjoy the chatter. I have bought books based on the chatter, decided what to read next, discovered new genres. If anyone doesn't like the chatter, you can just look for the links, because everyone provides links for the free books. No link, it is chatter.

I love all the extra chatter. I feel it does help in deciding whether or not to pick up some of the books.

This is my favorite thread. Often late at night when I am ready to unwind I look forward to reading the days comments to romance books and their heroes and heroines. What's most wonderful is that there really isn't one universal hero but many different kind of heroes and everyone gets to express their opinion on them and their authors. All this plus wonderful bargains. So to the moderator for leaving it alone.

Well, darn it... OF COURSE I want to set it to $0 or .99 but it looks like the higher you set the price, the higher the author's cut. That's kinda not fair Now I'll feel guilty if I go to low

The judge has given the decision.

Now, let celebrate! The first round on me!

Now to enable; My sister at B&N has just finished a ARC of Sleeping With The Entity by Cat Devon. It is not on sale, but she has told me that it is really good. I can't wait for my gift certificates to get here!!!Here is the description:

Meet Daniella Delaney. She’s all ready to open her shop, Heavenly Cupcakes, in one of Chicago’s sleepier districts. But she’s having a hard time convincing the local business association—namely Nick St. George—that she’s a good addition to the neighborhood. Daniella hopes that her famous red velvet cupcakes will be enough to melt any man’s heart. But Nick is no ordinary man. He’s got fangs.
As leader of the Vamptown clan, Nick has no intention of letting Daniella breathe new life into his old haunts. But something about her leaves Nick hungry…for more. He can’t control her mind like other humans, a trait that makes Daniella irresistible. Could it be that, for the first time in centuries, Nick has met his match? Love is always a force to be reckoned with. But can this vampire have his cake and eat it too?
