My wife picked out the Marware jurni for me. I didn't really want an easel-style case because I don't like how the front cover is hinged in the middle. I like that it zips - it feels great carrying it zipped shut (you can leave the bottom open to connect the charger). And the clips inside are a lot more secure than I expected when I first saw them.

On the downside it is rather thick when folded back, so I have mostly been using it "open" with the front cover flapping in the breeze (works ok in different orientations but not really optimal). I had thought about trying to zip it back up when folded back and only today found out you're supposed to do that - so I'll try it; that'd make that hand strap actually useful. Maybe after the hinged part is broken in it'll be more flexible - it's obviously meant to be sturdy.

I got a Snugg case and found the bottom menu was sometimes covered by the case and not accessible. I'm not sure if all models were the same, but just something to keep in mind.

The edges that holds the Kindle in place seemed to be a bit wider than another similar case (Roocase) I had.

The dodocase does look really cool, but I would have a challenge paying 25% the cost of the Fire to encase it.

The Navitech case I bought for 1/4 the Dodocase cost is still holding up, but Amazon has corrected the description from "leather" to "bycast leather"; not sure what that is. This case is a bit thick though.

Bicast (or bycast) leather is leather with polyurethane coating.

Thanks! That explains how it's surviving despite regularly getting wet. Some reviews faulted the durability of the leather; my primary worry is the corner clips but they seem to be working.

I got this cheap case. $11 (similar to the CaseCrown but 1/2 the price). I'm very pleased with it. The previous case that I had, used the "slip the KF into a bezel-covering sleeve" approach that interfered with activating the pop-up menu.

I've had my Fire in a Navitech cover since I bought it, but I didn't like it. Poor fit and plastic-y feel -- the only thing going for it was that it offers a lot of viewing angles. I used an Amazon gift card I got for Christmas to get a CaseCrown Trifold to replace it, and I love it! Perfect fit, doesn't add bulk, and very nice looking. The prop function works well and the magnet keeps it closed when you need it to. I recommend it.

I noticed a lot of people have this one and are really happy with it. Very slim and it's supposed to protect well. I would think for that price it would be cheaply made, but people say it's really well made. The pink one is only 5.00.

Pink one is here, but I personally prefer black for my devices.

I have the black Belkin Folio case that stands. I got it at Target and I love it. It's perfect, you can fold it back easily and the stand is very nice. It's 39.99 though, a bit overpriced.
