What is the verdict for reading outside? I am a newbie ereader and can't decided between nook or nook color. I do read outside during lunch weather permitting and this could be a deal breaker if I can't read the nook color.

I'm so excited for you I'm just saving a few more $$ to get my own NC sent all the way to Perth. Do you know, do the plugs fit our powerpoints or do we need to buy one of those travel converter thingys?

Very much a U. S. plug, but it will accept Australian electricity.

Or you can simply charge it with any standard USB charger using a microUSB cable.

Good luck saving for yours. I am so looking forward to getting mine. I already have one of those plug converters that I use for other stuff that I have from overseas so I will be using that.

It is fine in the shade, but too much sunlight can be a problem. I have an eink Nook as well and definitely prefer it outside in the sun.

My husband and I saw the nc at a coffe shop while on vacation in New Orleans. A gentleman was putting his new device to "the test". On our way home we stopped in a town that has a B&N. Walked in, my husband asked if they had any instock, and we had it set up before we left the store!

As a avid kindle fan, I will admit, I like It! I think I still prefer eink for longer reading periods, but the cnook does have a very nice screen, much better than I expected. The browsing is nice, better than on my itty bitty touch. I am writting this on the device now.

I am having issues with the touch screen page turns. It either doesn't turn the page or goes ahead 5 or 6 pages. I'm sure it is user error

Now I just have to figure out how to move his sony books over to it.

I have also had this problem. I'm told that it has to do with the moisture on your hands or on the screen itself. the screen is very sensitive to moisture so keep it clean and keep your hands dry. Also, try putting a screen protector on the NColor and see if that works. I hope this helps.

In theory, download Adobe Digital Editions to the machine that has the Sony Library on it. Plug in the nook color with Adobe DE running and authorize the nook color. Then, copy your books over to the nook color using Adobe DE or whatever you like.

Books go into the "My Files\Books" folder to appear in the Books section of your Library.

I have been reading with the NookColor outside in bright Arizona sunshine this past week with no problems. I have the BN anti-glare screen protector installed which I recommend for general protection and screen cleanliness also. Indoors I keep the screen brightness set at about 25% and in the bright sun increase it to about 75%. This combination works very well for my reading.

It is more than just that. I have a Nook Classic and a Color Nook. If I read to page 23 in a given book on my Nook Classic, when I open the same book on my Color Nook it opens to page 23.

Make sure you sync the NOOKcolor. For those who don't know...bottom of library screen, two arrows shaped like circle.
