What a coincidence, I hate warm beer. Maybe hate is too strong of a word.

Can I post a scared rant? We are less than one week from the one-year anniversary of the May Floods here in Middle Tennessee, and we're having horrible weather - heavy rain, tornadoes, high winds. Damage reports coming in from all over the Mid-State. I can't get anything done work-wise because I can't concentrate. I just keep coming back to MR for a diversion. I really don't need one more thing to worry about right now, but I don't see nature cooperating with my needs so I'm going to sit here trying not to flip out. Ugh.

You ARE having horrible weather! I'm glad that it seems to be staying a bit north of me this time, but I'm sorry that puts it up there with you. Stay safe!

Thanks, and I'm not leaving the house so I should be pretty safe from anything other than a direct hit. I just worry about everyone else.

From where I'm sitting, I can see the poster on my wall that was issued last year to commemorate the community efforts after the May floods. I'm attaching an image below.

I can't imagine what the durian toots would smell like, but I'm pretty sure it would be considered a chemical agent of mass destruction.

I've eaten it many times and if you can get over the smell the taste is quite good, one thing to remember is not to drink hard alcohol and eat durian, you'll be very sick, dangerous actually. People have had to go to the hospital because of that. It's something I think anyone coming to Malaysia should try, at least once, like when you go to Thailand you should try the fried grasshoppers

I rather like durian. The smell doesn't bother me as long as I'm outdoors. I don't think I'd want to bring a whole durian into my house. It's really only the outer 'shell' that has such a strong smell anyway. The inner 'pods' almost have none. (Very slight) The better supermarkets in Thailand remove the pods and wrap them in clingwrap and sell it that way. Much easier to deal with. But still, I prefer eating durian in outdoor markets, especially the Albert Street Market in Singapore! People seem to gather from all over, spending hours pouring over the huge piles of durian, everyone trying to figure out which one is at its peak ripeness!

Durian tastes good, but I still prefer mangosteens over all other fruit!
