Finished converting my smoker, an Original Bradley, adding a second heating element and a digital PID controller. These changes, along with a cold smoke attachment, finally give me the flexibility and control I've been missing. Now, to make some sausage! Today, I think we'll start a batch of Andouille.

But first, I'll finish this glass of fresh squeezed OJ and start on my morning Peet's Major Dickason's.

I've got two vessels of refreshment. One has just some plain ol' water in it, the other has some cinnamon flavored coffee from Starbucks (free stuff good).

It's rare for me to enjoy a cup of the coffees on a weekend. But...when facing in-laws, I need all the help I can get.

Quite prodigious quantities of alcohol. The nordic countries are rather generous in their offerings to Santa. Luckily, I only get to finish the last drops, and Santa's capacity is phenomenal.

Merry Christmas, one and all! Santa came last night and I'm trying to decide if I should use the coal for a BBQ or another few hours of heat...

A mug of Yorkshire tea and a big box of tissues for breakfast today. Perhaps some toast too if I'm feeling up to the challenge of toasting it.

I'm sure you will find the toast more nutritious than the tissues, and it might even taste better, despite the cold. Hope you are feeling better, and Merry Christmas to you too.

In a hamper of goodies as one of our presents was a box of Yorkshire tea bags, so I'm interested to see how they are, never having had Yorkshire tea. (And as my mother was from Yorkshire, I'll feel positively "matriotic" while I drink it!)

I hope you enjoy it, but I have my reservations... I do like Yorkshire tea, but only in its 'loose leaf' form. The tea bags use fannings instead of leaves. That's the dust and broken bit's left at the bottom of the tea bin. The flavor is less than 1/4 of what you experience when you use loose leaf teas. Yorkshire tea 'should be' a bracing cup of full flavor. It's a perfect wake-up tea, but quite diminished in the commercial tea bag product.

I'm having a mug of Yorkshire tea myself right now, as a late afternoon pick-up. Good stuff!
