I just close the pop up each day. I've upgraded once then rolled back, I'm not doing it again. It's all well and good saying W10 is compatible when it's the PC manufacturers drivers that aren't.

Just started my laptop which I upgraded when windows 10 came out and when I sign in I get a critical error start menu and cortana aren't working. This leaves my system totally unuseable. Start menu doesn't work. Not impressed.

If you want to have more fun with a thread and topic. One has to do a tad of digging of that thread out of the "Stacks" where it is located. Titled and in the "Its dead Fred" and lets move on section! ![]() |

Grins and giggles only have so much carry over value seeing that this a news sub section.
But there is are very real life and every machine/user mix that is different and unique in that the upgrade is not a painless experience or is, depending! That is ongoing and a very current happening ! Which is very news worthy that members here can help each other fix or collectively complain (not my first word choice ![]() So it is ether scream or be ecstatic abt a non choice in many ways change, depending on hardware and or program mix ! Humor is a human thing that helps get one over the rough spots! I for one thinks its time for some fried marshmallows ! ![]() Last edited by DustyDisks; 08-25-2015 at 04:34 PM. |

Its funny, (to me at least) all the playing around, testing, loading and installing, ect and for the most part I really don't use any of the new features that came with 10.
It all seems to work just fine. The drivers, the programs that I had before, ect ect ect. I just haven't used any of the new stuff. Microsoft spent all that money I spent all that time and nothings really changed. ![]() |

I have Windows 10 installed on all my PCs at home (about 4 PCs I think) and as long as you don't take all the defaults for privacy and other settings and switch off everything you don't need, it runs very well and fast.
It boots faster than Windows 7, it seems more snappy in general and games seem faster too. All in all very happy, but I spent about an hour trawling through all sorts of settings and disabling them to get there. |
