Sadly, the weather folk lied to me. Yesterday they dropped any significant snow fall from the forecast. Today, I have 3cm and climbing of snow though at -6° the temperature is not far from the prediction.

Just looking at the temperature in the old home town. -29° (wind chill feels like -44°) dropping to -34° overnight. Makes the -9° with -14° overnight in this area feel so much warmer. All temps in C unless other wise specified.

The high temperature for today 48°F, but the low tonight will only be 45. It's raining lightly right now, but it's supposed to rain steadily overnight with as much as 2 or three inches. The last storm a few days ago dumped that much on us, and some of the flooded areas still haven't dried out, so it could be quite a mess.

Cold at 2℃ and intermittently snowing. But since it's above freezing where I am it's already melting. There are some blue patches in the sky, so maybe the sun will come out. If not, at least it won't it isn't a dark gray day like yesterday.

Currently -2° and sunny. The weather folk are predicting over 25cm of snow tomorrow. A good day to stay home and sip tea.
Edit: The weatherfolk just moved the snow to Wednesday from Tuesday. A new forecast or a typo? Last edited by DNSB; 01-15-2024 at 05:00 PM. |

Yesterday we had rain, snow, hail and anything in between. During the night there was more snow, not a huge amount, but enough for a thin cover.
Today should be dry with a maximum temperature of 3℃. Currently it's gray, but I can occasionally see some blue sky peeking through the clouds, so hopefully we'll get some sun today. Tomorrow it's going to be colder again, below freezing all day. Part of the country will get a lot of snow (for Dutch standards), but other parts won't get any. I live in the area where we might or might not get snow. |

Currently 26 degrees F. with light snow. We are likely to get 1-2 inches in New York City. I was out when it started in the evening and it looked then like flurries. I hope I won't need boots for going out Tuesday. My other shoes give good arch support for my knees. There is a lot of hype about this snow, because we have not had even an inch since February of 2022. Youtubers are chomping at the bit for snow to boost their viewing numbers. It will likely be very pretty in Central Park.

-2° and cloudy. The prediction for snow for Wednesday is still there but has dropped to 10-20cm from the previous 25-37cm. Unfortunately, the missing snow seems to have been replaced by freezing rain.
Considering that way that the weather forecast has been bouncing around and the temperatures, I'm going to wait and see before panicking. One friend of mine sent me a picture from the local H-E-B where the shelves seem to have been thoroughly picked over after the local temperature hit 17°F (-8° C). For some reason, most Lubbock homes are built with air conditioning and not heating in mind. |
