It was a stormy day. Storm Pia brought hard wind, rain, hail, thunder/lightning and warm temperatures.

Although the wind will be less hard tomorrow, the day will look similar to today. Rainy and gray. Which is pretty much the weather prediction for the next couple of days. And with temperatures between 10 and 13℃ it's too warm for the time of year.

Sunny, cold and clear since Monday afternoon after severe rain overnight Sunday into Monday morning (high of 61 degrees F. during the rain). We have been below freezing overnight into Friday.

As a Christmas miracle, when I was walking this morning, I got to see one idiot driver swerve into a puddle and spray a group of pedestrians. The dark coloured SUV behind that vehicle lit up in red and blue and pulled them over. A fine and 3 points was probably not what the driver was looking for as a Christmas present.

After yesterday's rain today should be mostly dry, even the sun is supposed to show itself. At 9℃ it's still warmer than it should be.

Tomorrow we'll get a lot of rain, again, up to 30mm. But by the weekend it should dry up and get a lot colder (2-4℃).

The first storm of the year is now happening. Storm Henk (can't get a name more Dutch than that). It's been rainy all afternoon, and from the late afternoon onwards it's been getting windier.

Up until the weekend it's predicted to stay windy and rainy. But there should be some dry spells tomorrow, so I can go out and run some errands without getting rained on, hopefully.

Currently 33 degrees F. at 4:00 AM. High will be 44 today. Partly sunny. We may get snow or wintry mix over the weekend. I'm getting out as much as I can while it's nice out.

For the past 2 days it's been very cold here. It's -18℃ at the moment and there's a bit of wind too, so it feels more like -30℃. I'm not going out today. Yesterday I had to fetch my cat's medicines from the clinic and it wasn't a pleasant trip (I have no car). Our public transport is reasonably clean, warm and pretty tightly scheduled, so at least there's that.

Warmer weather is predicted for the next week, fortunately.

Currently 9° but the weatherfolk are predicting a polar vortex moving in so late next week, the highs and lows are going to drop below 0° with a small chance of snow.

Currently (just after 10 am) it's 6℃ and drizzly. But it should dry up soon and that should last until around noon. So I'm going to run my errands before it starts raining again.

From tomorrow temperatures will drop to 0℃ to 3℃ during the day and it will dry up and maybe even get sunny.

According to the newspapers people are already getting new ice skates or having the ones they have sharpened in anticipation of frozen (shallow) waters. Anyone wants to take bets when the talk about an Elfstedentocht will start?

The BBC once called the Elfstedentocht an annual ice skating event that rarely takes place.

Today was another miserable day. Even when the rain radar said it was dry it was still drizzling. But from tomorrow we're getting at least a couple of days of dry and sunny weather. Tonight it's still 6C, but it feels a lot colder. You can even feel it in the apartment.
