it's the sulfites added to the wine. look for some "organic" wine, it is not added to that. I went through a similar issue

No, it's not the sulfites. (Old theory, since disproved for all but a very small fraction of the population that has a sensitivity to sulfites.) I've had whites with lots of sulfites, not issue. I've had reds with no sulfites at all, splitting headache. They've done numerous studies, looking for the root cause, and haven't found anything yet.

About 2 out of 3 times I can get away with it by having two aspirin (ASA) approximately 20 minutes before my first sip. The third time, it does nothing at all. So it's likely prostaglandins for me, which the ASA inhibits.

Peet's Darjeeling Fancy Organic. (A 2nd flush blend, and quite respectable, IMHO.)

is it the tannins in the grape skins? I know that makes me vomit with many black teas

Today it's Taylors of Harrogate's "Yorkshire" tea for breakfast. Couldn't do the tequila twice!

Astra! Wonderful job of spreadsheet keeping. I'm in awe of your dedication to the work! Would you share the file with us? I assume it's a standard Excel spreadsheet.

This must make it very easy for you to keep track of what you wish to re-order. You certainly have tried many, many different teas! Keep up the good work!

Water. Back from the gym. No excuse to not go on the weekend. I am tying to get there five times a week. Tomorrow I am off to buy a gym in a bag kit so I have some light weight exercise gear to travel with over Christmas. I do feel better after I have been to the gym but there are times where it is hard to motivate to go.

We have the new fence nearly up in the back yard. They got 95% of it installed today. They have to finish the gate and a small amount of fence area. Then we can safely let Caya out into the yard because I doubt that she is going to be able to jump a five foot fence. It looks a great deal better then the old fence, which makes me very happy, and has no wiring so it should be safer for our child when (s)he is up and playing in the yard.

Yes, it's the 44th anniversary of my 21st birthday! I began celebrating last night at my favorite restaurant in the whole world, which happens to be a Mexican restaurant, had the next celebration this afternoon at a great Indian/Napali restaurant, and am baking some fresh rye bread right now to have with cold cuts we bought at a deli this afternoon! It's the beginning of another good year, and I have Fortnum & Mason's "Royal Blend" in my cup. I couldn't ask for anything more!

It sounds like you are thoroughly enjoying the celebration of another great year to come.

Happy Birthday, Stitchawl, and many more exciting celebrations to come.

Your dog is named like my daughter (K instead of C for us), how weird is that... ?? It is only her middle name though, but still....

Happy BD Stitch !!! I turned 44 (for real ) yesterday. My kids were horrid, superman is on his way from Germany with a car packed with presents so he did not make it and will only arrive today. I went to the indian restaurant I love with my dad, that was really nice, and had a mini breakfast with a girlfriend but for the rest, pretty uneventful day....but exhausting, thanks to the kids, who obviously mixed up the dates and are adorable this morning

We are adjusting to the new house.
I love it, everything is better here, and I appreciate very much the work superman has put in it, you can really see he is good at what he does. The domotic and electrical installation is a dream, sockets almost everywhere, lights that go on automatically where needed, warm colors for the leds (which we have in almost every room), different lighting circuits for different ambience, I knew he was good, but it is the first private house he does (we usually work for hotels, medical practices, big companies), I am very impressed .
Not impressed with the internet installation, which we did not do ourselves. Since this is "my" supervision part , I had to try many different options in order for it to work as we wanted (meaning internet access on all three floors). I finally went for a dlan-wlan combination, which I ended up installing myself friday, and tuning yesterday. Still not super happy, but better than before.
I won't even comment on the plumbing, the guy had to come back daily, hopefully it will be fine from now on...

We are starting the tree this afternoon, waiting for our own père noël to arrive this evening.....

@astra: have a great holiday under the sun !
