I still have an original Nexus 7. It will sometimes give me issues powering on that are usually resolved by plugging it in to charge for a with and then powering on while still plugged in.

It was odd as it showed as 100% again after being plugged in for only about 10 minutes. I was at the doctor's office with my mother and it wouldn't swipe. So I turned it off and then it wouldn't turn back on (it would say Google in white, but then freeze). Turned it off a few times but it wouldn't start all the way.
