Tuesday afternoon it was hot and sunny until it started getting dark around 3 when I was walking to a doctor appointment. The thunderstorm started while I was waiting for the doctor. The pouring rain lasted well over an hour (including while I walked home). It got down to 68 degrees and was 70 when I walked in the evening to go to the pool. Very humid on my walk home but only about 70 degrees.
At 2:45 AM it is 69 degrees with 87% humidity. |

I'm traveling for work. Home is 83F (28C) which is nicer than it has been for a couple weeks.
Here it is 97F (36C) and the heat index says it feels like 110F (43C). It's miserable. I am NOT used to this humidity. Tomorrow I go home through Phoenix, AZ and it's supposed to only be 115F (46C) down from today's 117 (47C). At least it's a dry heat. ![]() Yuck. Yuck. Yuck. |

It started raining around 2am and it stopped around 7.30am. So far we've had over 10mm of rain and more is to come. But it looks like it won't be continues rain until after midnight like was predicted yesterday. There isn't much chance of the sun coming out, though. When it rains it'll be around 15℃, when it's dry it might go up to around 19℃.

I walked out of my hotel this morning and my glasses immediately fogged up. It was 75 in the hotel and about 80 outside. It's not supposed to be this humid outside!

cooler, fires in area, kind of back in drought
Well the dogs are thrilled when they can sit outside. The haven't figured out why some days its hot within a foot or two of an open door...ok, forget it, going back to sleep. Probably another warmup later in the week. Locally, dry brush (kind of high desert, lots of weeds, trees in hills) is almost like tinder. So local firefighters and state and county people are dealing with this again. They get aggressive as any wind shows up fires spread. Water rights are kind of quirky, senior water users get more water, then junior users get letter amounts. I think its dependent on when you got water for your farm or livestock. thing about moving a lot, laws, counties, locations, all that stuff you have to learn all over again. I'm going back to science fiction, easier to deal with than reality (old idea, goes back decades...)

Yesterday was very unpleasant. Not that warm, 20℃ max, but it was wet until early evening. Sometimes it rained, but mostly it was a fine drizzle that the rain radar didn't see. Humidity was over 90% all day.
Today it looks like it will be drier, though there's still a chance of rain. It'll be mostly cloudy, 23℃ and I suspect it'll be almost as humid as yesterday. |

High of 90. It was 88 when I went out at 7:20PM and felt very humid. Worst day so far this summer for heat. When I left the pool at 9:30pm it was raining and didn't feel hot out, but I didn't have an umbrella Didn't want to add the weight of it to my backpack. There was thunder and lightning in the distance. It was about 78. Going to be hotter on Friday. I might stay inside.
