We had small pop-up thunderstorms in the area on Saturday. There was loud thunder all day long, but we only had rain for about an hour right around sunset.
The weatherman seems pretty sure that we'll have a lot more rain today. |

Yeah, I had to drive 1.5 hours away today for court. I got out of there as fast as I could so I could get on home and get all the things charging up. I am really worried about the trees since the ground is so saturated from the last week.

Currently it's 19° and sunny with the high projected to be 25°. There are some clouds predicted for the next 9 days but no significant precipitation which is not good news for the forests.

It has been very humid in New York City since about Friday. I've been using the AC on and off for a few days. Monday we had a big thunderstorm about 10:30 AM. It hasn't been any warmer than 77 degrees but the humidity made it feel warmer. At 2:30 AM it is 68 and partly cloudy. We had a massive downpour of rain about an hour ago.
We are in for more clouds, rain and thunderstorms on Tuesday. Last edited by mlewis78; 06-27-2023 at 02:45 AM. |

The cool down continues. It's currently (8.20 am) 15℃ and drizzling. It started raining late last night and continued off and on throughout the night. It should dry up later this morning or in the early afternoon. Towards the end of the afternoon it'll be 24℃ and the sun might come out, otherwise it'll be a gray day.
It was the first night I slept without my fan on in three weeks, which was bliss. |

Currently, it's 21° with the high projected to be 25°. A few wispy clouds but a nice day to be outside as long as you remember the sun screen.

It's just after 8am and it's 16℃, it will go up to 22/23℃ this afternoon. So the same as the last couple of days. But today it will be mostly sunny with some scattered clouds. I'm hoping it isn't as humid as the last couple of days, because it was unpleasant.
Tomorrow it'll rain most of the day, but luckily on Sunday, when I'm going to do a high tea with my sister at a cherry orchard, it should be dry. For the next couple of days the temperature will be around 20℃. |

the high temperature was 85°F and the sun was significantly dimmed by the smoke haze. Our Air Quality Index was 158, which is Unhealthy. Still a lot of fires burning in Canada. The haze has descended to ground level, but unlike the previous event there isn't any smell of smoke in the air.

The annual July 4 week heat wave has arrived in NC - dangerously high humidity levels on top of >90 F daily temps => temps feel like 105 - 115 F -- dangerous, but now even worse with the Canadian smoke

I fear folks are going to stop paying any attention at all to the local news for the sheer number of weather alert days we have been having. High heat/smoke risk followed by level 2-3 storm alerts. Rinse and repeat. Been quite the week.

Currently (9.38 pm) it's raining hard and it'll keep raining off and on until 3 am is the prediction. Today's high was 20℃, and it was above 18℃ for a very long time, until it started raining and temperatures dropped to 14.4℃ at the moment.
Prediction are for another couple of cooler than normal days with tomorrow and Wednesday chances of rain. On Friday and Monday it'll be 27℃ and on Saturday and Sunday it'll be 30℃+. So I'm hoping I don't mind cooler temperatures the next couple of days, if it keeps the heat settling in the walls on the four warm and hot days. |
