Canadian smoke has reached us - it's very dark outside and we have a Hazardous air quality warning in place today.

Just went out to feed the squirrels - ack! Sinuses and throat now inflamed - good day to continue masking.

Its just awful! It was as thick as fog when I left the house at 6am

Yeah - many of the people walking in the neighborhood are masking up. It really sticks in your throat.

So much smoke in the city today. It was yellow or orange looking at 1pm but just smoky after 3pm when I went out. Heard later that the level is just as unhealthy as when it was yellow/orange. I only went out to go to physical therapy and I took photos before I walked home. About 65-67 degrees in the afternoon. 61 now at 11:30 PM. Unhealthy air alert will go at least until Thursday night.

This afternoon parts of New Jersey had visibility of one half mile. I had to go out to the store this evening and it was pretty eerie -- there were cones of orange light under the streetlights and lit by the headlights. Here's a video of the smoke building up through the day -- and it was pretty smoky to start!

It was sunnier yesterday than predicted. Today will be similar, but a little bit warmer with highs of 26℃. There's a small chance of a thunderstorm in the afternoon.

Pollen are very high; I woke up during the night and needed to use my nasal spray because of a scratchy throat.

The air is getting cleaner -- although there's still an advisory about it being potentially hazardous for folks with asthma, etc. This morning, for the first time in a couple days, I looked up and saw some blue patches in the sky.

It's still hot, today high will be 30-31℃, it's just after 8 am and it's already 20℃. Of course I have to run several errands this afternoon, ones I can't postpone.

Tomorrow will be similar and on Monday it will be a little bit cooler, but the next week temperatures will be over 25℃, but at least nighttime temperatures will drop to cooler temperatures from Wednesday onwards.

It was sunny Saturday afternoon and about 75 degrees. Started raining later in the evening and it's cloudy now, 67 degrees at 3:00 AM.

I've spent many a summer day in southern Europe in 100+ degree weather without issue. But for some reason 60+ here in Norway feels like pure agony. It is currently 77 degrees
