He meant, sarcastically, that it was unfair of them to require you to actually pass the test in order to pass the class.

oh, it's not really unfair. i failed both long exams, and so did the rest of the class. basically, we all have to pass the final to pass the class. but some say that the prof is biased and usually passes more girls than boys :P

oh thanks i thought i was whiney when i was not sick it's really cold here, and it's April! It should be hot! it's really cold at night too, almost but not quite as cold as LA at night.

I still haven't located the battery compartment in my kitten! Stella seems able to recharge her batteries without needing any down time! If this keeps up I may need a jump start myself.

Tonight I was parked in my chair, watching the evening news, holding a plate of mac & cheese. Suddenly I was holding a plate of mac & cheese & kitten. Words were spoken. All is forgiven.

typign this with stiff fingerprints! (not bothering to fix the typo either)

Why does super glue stick more to yoru fingers than to the thing you are tying to fix.

The little leg thingy( a little tiny arm thingy on it about 4mm x 2mm) under my keyboard broke and trying to glue it together was a pain. It is stuck now, but who knows for how long. My fingers certainly seem to be going to stay stiff forever. Trying to peel off the top layer of skin doesn't seem to help.

Oh, poor baby!

When superglue first became popular, I read the warnings on instantly bonding skin and wondered if it was true, so I applied a drop to my thumb and middle finger. I wasn't worried, because I believed I was strong enough to pull them apart. Well, maybe I was, but I'll never know, because what I didn't realize until too late was that while I may indeed have been strong enough to pull my fingers apart, it didn't necessarily follow that the skin on my fingertips would have been strong enough to overcome the bond of the glue.

I believe, if I recall correctly, that I eventually managed to work a knife between them, but I've heard acetone is quicker.

From The Original Super Glue website:

Quote:
Skin
Immerse bonded areas in warm, soapy water. Peel or roll skin apart; a spatula or teaspoon handle or even a pencil will help. Remove cured adhesive with warm, soapy water (may take several applications). Fingernail polish remover with an acetone base has also been successful for removal of cured adhesive from skin.

Thanks I will try that. Luckily I was too quick to be caught with the fingers stuck together(permanently anyway). phfewww!, but my thumb and middle finger had a close call and now feel horrible. i was wondering if it would soak off in the bath.

*going to try nail polish remover now*

Super glue is used as a replacement for sutures in some medical procedures. We were taught to use it to close up wounds in an emergency, I've never tried it, but I can attest to its bonding strength on skin

Wiki:
Cyanoacrylate is the generic name for cyanoacrylate based fast-acting adhesives such as methyl 2-cyanoacrylate, ethyl-2-cyanoacrylate (commonly sold under trade names like Super Glue and Krazy Glue), and n-butyl cyanoacrylate (used in the veterinary glues Vetbond and LiquiVet and skin glues like GluStitch, Xoin, Indermil, LiquiBand® and Histoacryl). 2-octyl cyanoacrylate is a medical grade glue encountered under various trade names; e.g., derma+flex® QS™, SurgiSeal, octylseal, FloraSeal, Dermabond, Surgi-Lock and Nexaband. This was developed to be non-toxic and less irritating to skin tissue. Cyanoacrylate adhesives are sometimes known as "instant glues". The abbreviation "CA" is commonly used for industrial grades."
