Oh! Here there's not much to do during winter so we stay in. I'm in the suburbs so going out is a lot of trouble with the snow. But summer is different, there are festivals galore so one can go out almost as wished.

Next to my computer desk, there is at least one ant. It is always trying to climb the wall. Straight up. Now this ant will climb and climb until it gets to about 4.5-5 feet off the floor. At this point it will fall.

It is inevitable. As far as I know the wall is plumb/level. I have just imagined that must be where his little ant feet get tired and he just can't hang on any more. Poor ant!

After he has fallen it takes him a while to work up the courage to do it again. By sure as the day comes after the night, he will climb again.

I've worked it out. The ant is roughly 4-5 mm tall/long. He climbs to a height of give or take 1370mm. That means he is falling 274 times his bodies length. Or if we want to look at it another way. If a human story (as in 32 story building) is 10 feet. And the average human height is 5.5 feet. (Wiki) Then a story is give or take 180% of the average human height. Therefor a story in ant world would be 9mm. So the ants fall was equivalent to 152 story fall.

That's incredible!!! That's like you or me falling off of Bren Tower or 3 London Eye's stacked one on top another, AND WALKING AWAY!!!!
