Agreed.

I've just started Saul Bellow's Collected Stories. I can already tell, just past Janis Bellow's Preface and James Wood's Introduction, and thus into the first story, that I'm going to enjoy this, but I think I'm going to be reading this one slow, to savour. It could take me a while.

I also bought (as a note to Dr.Drib), David Foster Wallace's Infinite Jest. I think it (about the size of a house brick) came close to putting me over my hand luggage allowance on my flight home (yes, both of the above are pbooks).

Cheers,
Marc

I'm reading my way through the Hugo Nominees at the moment. First up was the excellent (and free to read online!) The Political Prisoner by Charles Coleman Finlay. Well worth your time...

I've just started on True Names by Benjamin Rosenbaum & Cory Doctorow. This one is free on feedbooks

Just completed The Curse of Chalion in audiobook form. This was a good story. It started a little slowly, but built up to a satisfying conclusion. The dialog was very well done. It was one of the first non-quest type Fantasy stories I recall "reading" in quite a while. I would give it 3 of 5 stars.

Finished Berserker by Steve Jordon. This was a good read in my favorite genre. It had enough technobable to keep me interested but not so much as to call it hard SF. Also, the characters were very believable and I like them. We learn something about them, but there is room for alot more. The premise of how other worlds were populated was a good idea and somewhat possible.

I would give this on a 4 of 5 stars. I will certainly be getting The Lens soon enough.

Next up, I am going to start on the Jeffery Carver sunborn books. I believe Neptune's Corssing is the first one.

I really wish Michael McCollum would finish Gibralter Stars. I've been waiting so long for this one.

I'm reading (still) The Year of Living Biblically, which I got from the library. I have to read it when I come home since I don't feel like carrying it around. I'm also reading Through the Looking Glass on ebook, which is one of my 1001 books.

I'm having the same problem. I'm trying to only read one a month but it's really really hard.
