Watching a couple of 2m long icicles. I plan on not standing under the corner of the building where they're located.

Pooh and I have a very similar forecast. They've changed the prediction of rain on the frontal boundary to snow and the winds are here already.

It’s very grey and very wet. It’s also been dark all day, as if it is dusk all day long.

-8F with -40F windchill. Temp isn't bad but the wind flash freezes your face.

It is -3 here, and according to my weather app, it feels like -29. We didn't need to leave the house today, and except for watching for a package coming in the mail, we've been having a lazy day before the busyness of the next 2 days.

At 5:45 PM it is 17 degrees (real feel 4 on Accuweather). There has been little snow. It was 37 three hours ago. During the night it was stormy with very heavy rain that kept me awake at 3-4 AM (thunder as well). At that time it was 53 and went up to 56 by morning.
Forecast is for the temp to go to 11 F today. |

Currently 2° but going up to 5° over the night. Rain is falling on the snow so we can enjoy flooding tomorrow. It looks like any chance of a white Christmas is heading down the nearest storm drain.

It's dry and almost 10C right now. Yesterday it rained, a lot, but not as much as predicted. Hopefully it'll be a bit brighter with some sun today, it's been a very dark and grey couple of days.

Our high temperature for the day was in the early morning hours, while it was raining -- we were at 57°F. Right now, a little less than 24 hours later, the temperature is 5°. After the rain stopped we were lucky and only got a dusting of snow, but the water on the roads froze almost instantly. And the fierce winds made for the kind of "driving excitement" that you don't see on the commercials.
I had to go out to a store in the late afternoon. The doors of my minivan were frozen shut, but I was able to get the driver's door open after a few tries. The wind was a serious problem. Aside from the wind chill factor being dangerously low, it was hard to fight it. When I got out of the store I had a large cardboard box in my cart. It was empty but fairly heavy and I thought it was safe. But just as I got to my car the wind lifted it out of the cart and accelerated it to the point that when it hit me in the face it momentarily dazed me -- and knocked one of the lenses out of my eyeglasses. (I keep a spare pair in the car.) Be safe out there! Last edited by cromag; 12-24-2022 at 03:06 AM. |

It was 6 here when I left the house to head to the market. Lots of good cheer from the local businesses though! Got some local beer, bread, cookies and veggies.
Back home in front of the fire because our power company is threatening state-wide rolling power outages. |
