Today I did the first rough belt sand of the scrap piece of wood I grabbed out of a builders skip and which I'm going to use as the base of the lamp I'm making. It's hardwood, no idea what type but probably gum, and the grain and colour looks nice. No picture of it at the moment, but here's what's going on top, with a light put inside it:

The light going inside is a colour-changing globe.

I'd love to get a response from the offending parties, myself. So far, nothing. I think this is part of "deniability": if you never admit there's a problem, you have nothing to deny.

As WT says, I've had practice in the ranting game. I wonder if it's just because I'm sick and things are so difficult, but sometimes I think obstructionism is becoming a professional requirement. How about those "your call is so important to us" delay systems? I run out of concentration long before I get to talk to anyone.

I am proud to be a member of this forum. I've read some truly excellent posts, very well-written, not to mention kooky and interesting. I feel right at home.
