Back home. Started with fresh squeezed OJ, and a large mug of Peet's Holiday Blend coffee. Now a large glass of local, organic, apple juice. Going to sit down and goof off all afternoon with a book on my Kindle. I'm feeling pretty punk from the travel, and may have picked up a cold.

Not black belt yet. If we stay the course my son, wife and I will earn our black belts in November of next year. Every 8 weeks we do the qualifier where you take physical fitness portion of the test as a test run to see how you are doing and how close you are to it pulling it off. I did not quite make the min score. The running I nail, a mile is easy for me (used to run cross country) but with my back problems the rest of it can be a nightmare.

Close though, and I have a year to train.

In Cup: Starbucks Peppermint Moche Breve with an extra shot of espresso.

Jealous! I love a good pear/fruit cider. Strawberry Kopparberg is incredible but caloriffic.

Oh, astra, I am so very sorry to hear that. I'm just starting to realize that my parents won't always be here, and not sure how I would do if it happened.

Astra, my heart goes out to you, and as you noted your own health is an issue, Make no important choices without others to help you for a while.
Remember the gift of life your mother gave you and if you have a chance, thank her for it. I never had that opportunity.
