Yup. The plastic part settles right down on the top of the mug to trap in the heat. I really like this filter - perfect for individual portions.

P.S. Btw., I have officially resumed using Yorkshire Gold tea bags for lunch. It is a waste of time, effort and money to do otherwise. Cuppa #4 was Yorkshire Gold tea dust.

Big mug of Peet's Pride of Port, made with the new Swissgold filter in my room. Not bad. It's impossible to get water hot enough out of one of those inroom coffee makers, but I let it steep for a bit longer, and with a bit more tea than I'd usually choose, and it's acceptable. Doesn't quite get the full flavour profile of the tea (and it's one I know well), but it's definitely WAY better than anything I could do with a tea bag.

I have been steeping different teas for lunch but I never enjoyed it. Till I get to the canteen, then have a lunch, the tea is tepid, I don't feel any flavour. It was only the "idea" that I was drinking the proper tea, but no actual benefit.
Who did I fool? Only myself. Doing it only for the sake of doing it was foolish.
I steep loose teas in a strainer when I am in the office.

Afternoon Tea (F&M)


I have received two parcels.
Yesterday a parcel with tea from Tea House Emporium. Today parcel with tea from The East India Company.
In each parcel one tea was missing. My luck? Or lack of luck?
I contacted the company in Bath yesterday. They apologised and promised to send the missing one today.
I contacted The East India Company a few minutes ago. We will see. The tea, Tong Mu Bohea, that I was most looking forward to tasting, was missing

The journal is really fun to reread later and be able to put all those thoughts (even feelings of frustration after the baby is born ).

A friend gave me a baby calendar when my son was born, a little flat one that had cute stickers to use. I continued using it (and others that I bought for this purpose) for all my son's appointments and milestones as he grew up. It was a quick reference to see weight gain, growth, shots, and even first play dates, sports, etc.
