It rained a lot this morning and into part of the afternoon; 63 degrees F. The sun came out and it got up to about 68. Now, at 11:45 PM, it is 57. This is much cooler than it's been.

Well, the Maritimes are about to get hit by a "hurricane-force tropical storm" that meteorologists are considering historical. I, for one, am getting slightly tired of living through chapters of some future history book.

It was cold and sunny today. 50 degrees now at 2:00 AM. Alexa tells me it is 48. Quite windy when I went for a walk early in the evening (about 58 degrees then). I was cold.

Fall has definitely arrived. It's raining and only 13C (10am), this afternoon it might go up to 16C and in the late afternoon it should dry up.

It's sunny and already almost 15C, it might get a little bit warmer. There's a small chance we might get a rain shower.

From tomorrow we're going to get at least a couple of days of very wet and cold weather.

The high temperature for the day was 69°F. We had some rain earlier, but the day ended with sun and light clouds. I spread a towel on the deck chair and spent some time in the breeze.

Autumn crickets sound different from summer crickets, the katydids have gone, and the blue jays are getting loud. It's nice to have the blue jays back. When West Nile disease first swept through here about 20 years ago it was very tough on the birds, especially crows and blue jays. The crows came back first, and I have seen some blue jays over the past few years, but this year is the first time since then that they really seem to have built back their population. It's good to hear them again.

Cold, grey and wet. Which is basically the weather until tomorrow night. The afternoon temperature will be around 13C, same as tomorrow. During the night it'll cool down to about 9C.
