Sunday was another hot day in the city. We got a shower in the afternoon that I heard while i was half asleep. 88 F. and sunny when I went out at 6:30pm.

Right now the weather's good, 15C and sunny. For this afternoon temperatures of 26C are predicted. Today will be the first day of the heatwave. From tomorrow we'll get temperatures of 30C and higher, until Sunday or Monday.

But yesterday I read it's going to be a "better" heat than during the hot weather last month. The humidity is going to be low, which not only feels better but also results in cooler nights (at least the first couple of nights).

Did you see, though?? Apparently both WRAL and WTVD meteorologists are predicting cooler than normal temps from now until the end of August! I saw that this weekend the highs are topping out around 82-84 (28C). Due to a Canadian cold front or some such.

Temperature is 22° with the high predicted to be 27°. The rest of the week is supposed to be cooler.

More likely the jet stream sagging ... but I'll believe it when I come back from a walk without a thoroughly soaked through T-shirt.

(still trying to get in 3-5 miles a day - stationary bike is boring)

84 degrees and humid at 1am here. I thought the heat wave was ending Tuesday evening. I heard some thunder, but we didn't get a storm. The temp did go from about 89 to 80 but now it's up for this time of night. I think Wednesday's high will be 84. If it is humid, it will be just like a heat wave continuing.

It cooled down nicely during the night, but it's already heating up, quickly. By the end of the afternoon temperatures will reach 29-30C.

You know in this humidity, cooler temps notwithstanding, you'll still soak a shirt until like early October...

Day three of the heatwave. Today it's going to be 31C, during the night temperatures didn't go below 18C. I did notice that the temperature different between the official temperature (taken in a field, in the shade) and the weather station in the city center near me isn't as big as it was during the hot weather three weeks ago. Now the difference is usually around 1,5C no matter what time of day, whereas three weeks ago it was 4-5C in the afternoon.

It seems that every day the prediction of when the heatwave will be over (below 25C) shifts a day. Right now most weather services are predicting it'll cool down next Thursday (earlier this week is was Monday), but two are predicting that from next Thursday temperatures will be lower, but still 25-26C, which means the heatwave officially continues.

Much better on Wednesday; high of 85, although it was about 82 at 2pm. 73 degrees at 5:20AM on Thursday. Still had to use the AC.
