It sure seemed that it did. They even had the wrong billing address on my card. I've used this card for my membership at all times and then it tells me the card isnt working then they charged me twice. Let's hope it's all fix now.

Not sure what to make of this one. Apparently Audible has a new serialized story, and is making the first chapter available for free. It's a mystery/suspense title, so if the concept sounds intriguing you might want to check it out. If you're interested, you can find "Hidden Falls: Ordinary Secrets: Episode 1" by Olivia Newport here.

I wonder how much they'll charge per episode? Charging that way tends to be more expensive than buying the work as a whole.

The first 8 books in JD Robb's In Death series are a Kindle Deal of the Day at $1.99 each. The Whispersync audiobooks are $0.99 each once you have bought the Kindle edition. I have listened to the first book in the series and the narration is excellent. These books are futuristic mystery/thrillers with a strong thread of romance (which makes sense because JD Robb is a pseudonym for romance writer Nora Roberts). I'm not sure if the Whispersync price will go up when the Kindle edition price goes up again so this may be a one-day deal.

While the romance element can ocassionaly get distracting (or painfuly annoying) if you are not into it, the In Death series is mostly decent police thriller murder mysteries set in a lightly sci fi setting. And Susan Erikson's (sp) narration is indeed excellent. Well worth a try.

While there is no way to tell, if they do this like they did John Scalzi's "The Human Division" (I think that is the name) last year the episodes were $0.99 a piece. When they finally released the combined series it was $24.95. At 13 episodes (and the first was free for a while) you came out ahead if you bought all of the singles, but if you were a subscriber you'd do better and wait for the grouping then use a credit. Since none of these are listed in the Audible catalog as of yet, there is no way to know the number of episodes (there were 13 in the Scalzi book BTW).

Well, we've just passed the one year anniversary of this particular thread, and I thought I would take the opportunity to thank the originator, Tubemonkey. It takes time and a lot of dedication to maintain the original post with all of the deals and freebies out there.
