because we want it to sync between the devices is why.. people just don't want it for no reason. but i just got this device and wasn't aware of all the restrictions so i asked my question. thanks

Sadly, sync only works for books downloaded from Amazon which means for content you are using Send to Kindle or equivalent functionality for, you have to accept the limitations of how Amazon handles that content.

Personally, I have 3 ereaders in use and have no need or desire for syncing on sideloaded content. At worst, I might have to remember the last couple of lines I read to plug into search.

I'm having problems with the Count Pages plugin again, when trying to download page numbers from Goodreads. Here's the log:

Time is at a premium for now though, today was getting any bugs I had seen reported taken care of, there certainly won’t be any new feature development for a while. Not important, doesn't happen often and I have my RAR->BAR->RAR shuffle.

When I went to the CP Github page and pressed issues I ended up at the Goodrich page.

For textual books: if the preferred format is present the PI uses it to count/calc stats. Maybe there should be a Preferred format for Text books, and another one for Graphical books.

Your problem is caused by you using .RAR files - quite simply, don't . The plugin can make no assumptions about what a .RAR file contains - in fact it doesn't even attempt to look in them itself. It understands PDF, CBR and CBZ having special case logic to handle them. For any other books, it just asks calibre to convert them to EPUB so it can apply a standard algorithm.

As to what calibre does when it tries to convert a RAR file to an EPUB for the EpubIterator class - no idea. As to why it then works when you rename it to BAR - also no idea. You would have to ask Kovid.

No worries, I'll create them with WinRAR as .BARs, get Windows to open .BARs with WinRAR, and keep them as .BARs in the library. Calibre won't know what to do with them, so it'll leave them be. And I'll be able to get CP to count the images in the adjacent CBZ.

After installing today's update, the "Flesh-Grad" in the Count Pages plugin works again.

Two enhancement requests, if feasible:

1. Option to disable the 'can't analyze statistics' message specifically for overwrite always being turned off.

2. Separate menu entries for counting all statistics, or only unpopulated ones. This would be used in place of the Overwrite always option.

Page 1 (early posts) on all plugins have the tips needed to install and use.

Pages are Integers (AKA Whole numbers)
The others are floating point (have decimal points)
