Oh, I just managed to look this up. Only one of the eleven is east of the Mississippi (and it hasn't been guessed yet).

New Mexico is right (that was the 'N'). The other two are not correct and the correct answers begin with 'A' and 'M'.

It is Arizona - although I don't get the sinuses reference?

The last one, that begins with an 'M', is the only one that's east of the Mississippi and is - extra clue here - over 40% water.

It was a television ad when I was little. I think it was a cold remedy, and it was advertised as "Like sending your sinuses to Arizona!" An odd choice for New Zealand television.

Sigh! I'm exhausted from traveling the nation! Never would have thought Michigan was larger than Minnesota! I too learn new things every day here too!

Oh - the sinus reference - Arizona has a very dry climate - low humidity - which is wonderful if you have problems with allergies!
