I hope that if I have to chose between ePub and mobi - the new and better pdf-support will not be bound to chosing the ePub-version...
I would not know what to do in that case! ![]() |

Maybe we'll have to pay for the e-Pub version since we 'old' users haven't paid for the e-Pub licence. I guess I'll just wait and see who the winner will be in the format-war. |

I wish that Bookeen would have the resources to challenge this in court. I'd love them to just add the ePub support and force Mobipocket to go public with this sleazy licensing policy and see if it holds up in court. If nothing else it would embarrass Mobipocket/Amazon and they should be embarrassed for treating their customers like this.

Unfortunately, Barcey, I don't think anyone would have a leg to stand on, legally. MobiPocket can licence their reader on whatever terms they wish, and there's nothing illegal about "exclusivity" clauses in contracts - they are very common.
You and I may feel that it would be in Amazon's own interests to "share" with other DRM methods but, at the end of the day, if they choose to require DRM exclusivity, it's their right to do so. |

Well, Orange's exclusivity on the Iphone in France was broken by judges. That one made me
