![]() If you don't mind my asking, can you describe what you don't like in the Forma's power button? I've never held a Forma in my hands. |

With all of that said, you would think that at least the switch never gets pressed by accident... but no, it's located where your hand goes when holding, and I have turned off my reader several times while reading. I have had far more accidental power offs with the forma than any of the infamous "Power button at bottom edge modles" like paperwhites or Clara HD All of this probably makes it sound far worse than it is in reality. But in an otherwise very well designed product like the forma, it really sticks out as a shockingly low quality implementation. |

I am still using my Kobo Aura (N514) from 2013. It is only the second reader I've had (had a Sony before) - so I can't compare to any new readers.
But I am quite happy with this one; it does its job. |

I’m sure I voted, My current ereaders are fine, so no. But I bought the Libra 2, couldn’t resist the better screen. Very pleased with it indeed. No regrets.
![]() ETA: I returned it as I do not need two premium ereaders. Last edited by Pjama; 02-07-2022 at 04:20 PM. |

There's a new screen by e-ink with something called On-Cell that eliminates the need for a touch layer and should be a meaningful upgrade. I expect Onyx Boox will be the first to have it with how quickly they refresh models.

IMO the ergonomics of the Libra H2O were a bit better, but the difference was small enough not to matter to me. I sold my H2O after getting the Libra 2. The new screen is just so much nicer.

I am not big on using them anyway. I do tap for page turns and use the buttons when go through my collections or through the menue. So I don't think my experience with them is anything to go by. What I do love about both readers is having the wider bezel to hold onto. As much as I loved the Aura One, when I got the H2O I realized my grip loosened because I had a wider bezel and didn't have to be afraid of accidentially touching the screen anymore. Both Libras are great and even though I've been raving about the new screen the difference is not as dramatic as it was in the old days when we did step up from 212 dpi to 300 dpi. It is just when you compare them side by side. I guess if you are used to even lighting it will be worth getting the Libra 2. If you are one of the people who aren't fazed by the slight lightband, like I am, and you do get a great deal on a Libra H2O, you will love it, too. It just boils down to personal sensitivity. And last but not least, I've been upgrading when ever there was a new reader out for over a decade now. Sometimes the new reader would have been on the market for a couple of month until I got it, but my cycle is about every two years a new reader comes home with me. I don't buy books, mine are library loans, so spending money on a reader is nothing I'd ever think about twice. And I always manage to sell my used ones for a good price, too, because they are only two years old when I sell them. |

But unfortunately, I might be one of those people who is sensitive to uneven lighting and weird color tints on the screen. I actually purchased the Clara HD long ago as my first ereader, but found the screen to have somewhat uneven lighting with strange green tint - bought the Paperwhite 4 to compare and returned the Clara as soon as I see how much better the screen on the PW4 is. Oh boy, tough decisions :/ |

I loved the format of my Aura One (even if I hade way too many quality issues with the uneven warm backlight that I could not stand), and when I first got the Forma as a replacement I thought the form of it was very akward. But after using it for a day I directly realized how much less cramped I was holdning it while reading for longer times compared to my old Aura One. The wide thicker wedge/bezel with the buttons on the Forma is what really makes it a great and very comfortable reader in practice (even if it physically looks more akward then the older and more "clean" looking Aura One). I also love the page turn buttons on the Forma. Use them all the time. They have a great feel (better then the mushier Libra H20 buttons) and for me a perfect placement on the wedge. Love them! Maybe it's just my Aura Ones, but both of mine require the touchscreen be pressed much further from the edge of the screen than my Clara, for example. I figured it was a design choice resulting from the flush screen. When I first used the Aura One only a few months back, I thought the touchscreen sensitivity was crappy, but now I think it was disabled side margins that caused me to think it was inconsistent. I believe some e-ink tablets use "palm rejection" in their firmware for people who are writing on touchscreens on the same principle. |
