Same here. Got mine today. Great ereader but mine has issues with lighting too, so will try to exchange, hopefully shuffling the deck will result in a less-defective unit. |

I'm starting to wonder if all the shadows and rainbow colors in the lighting isn't an actual issue and is normal? Does anyone have a KA1 with perfect (or near perfect) lighting?

Hmmm... I think the battery issues might be related to the active light sensors to automatically adjust the reader lights. Which makes sense because they have to be on 24/7 to do what they do. Needs more experimentation, I mean reading to investigate.

I think in part it depends how much you use the Natural light feature. My lighting is perfect with Natural light at zero and then gets funky if I turn it above one or two notches.

I'm gonna say I have one of the "perfect" screens
no shadows no weird colors I read under the same lighting conditions each time which might be why I haven't seen anything amiss Now on the Aura HD I noticed immediately a single "bright" pixel or element the first time I turned on the light - very annoying at first but learned to ignore it (for the most part) - definitely should have had it replaced but dealing with Kobo customer service..... |
