Not an author I've heard of before and not much description from Tor; there are only two review quotes from The New York Times and Ken Liu.

It's an excellent book with engaging world-building and a great, tense sibling relationship. It was a trifecta awards finalist so I'm not sure how you've not heard of it if you're in touch with the SFF world.

I would probably have missed that, thinking that the email referred to the earlier normal monthly freebie!

There is a page that clicking on the link in the email takes you to, though. It looks a lot like the normal Tor page for the monthly free book with a place to enter your email to show that you are a subscriber. Since I'm a subscriber, I don't know what happens if you enter an email that is not on their "subscriber" list, but maybe someone else can try it?
