I'm not sure exactly what question you're trying to ask, but if you mean that the H2O light is yellower than the Aura6", then yes, I see this on my devices, too. It took me a little by surprise when I got mine but I actually quite like that aspect (I always use a sepia background on my android apps, too). It took me about 5 minutes to get used to it. The improved clarity and contrast of the H20 (over both Aura6" and AuraHD) is more than enough compensation for me, but if you like a blue/white light then it might be a bit disturbing I guess.

I Just can't believe everyone is raving about a screen when I look at the one I got today. (picture in post above) either i have a different opinion to most or I have a bad one.

I'm so upset.

I can't determine any dissimilarities between yours and mine apart from different fonts; looks good to me. Have you had time to spend a reading session on it? I've tucked away few chapters and must say it suits my needs extremely well - no hiccups or freezes, however I would love a visual feedback when selecting a book from the 'Home Screen'; I keep issuing unnecessary taps and involuntarily turn pages.

I just can't understand why it looks so yellow compare to the PW2 when they both use the Carta screen. Also my top half seems slightly darker than the bottom half. I honestly didn't expect this.

No I haven't read on it yet. Right now I don't know if I want to touch it all all.

There are occasions when I have to tap twice to turn a page on my current Aura HD, but on the other side I like not having buttons on the book I read

Mine looks very much like the PW2 in that pic. There is no yellow tint on mine.

I posted a picture somewhere of it in a dark room somewhere...

I especially went to see h2o today in person in a crowded shop on a Saturday as they only put it on sale yesterday. It was not on display yet to fiddle with but the employee opened a box for me and turned it on so I could have a look - even though I warned I would not buy. It obviously was not set up but I know how Kobo works anyway. My jaw dropped when I saw screen quality. Sadly I cannot afford it for the moment but my PW1 looks sorry in comparison. And I would prefer yellowish screen to cold light of my flawless PW. Sigh. I will not buy from that shop anyway as their return policy is the stupidest ever - 14 days if the product is SEALED.

I would recommend giving reading on it a try. When I first booted and started with my H2O I thought it was extremely yellow and I was disappointed when I had it beside my HD. Later on that day when reading it had stopped seeming so yellow even when I had it next to my HD. I'm still not sure if it changed or my perception of it changed, but now I much prefer it to the bluer light of my HD.

BTW, Aura HD doesn't look blue during the day, but in the evening, since all my lightbulbs are warm white and I use f.lux on my laptop so its display is yellowish too, it does look a bit too blue for my preference.

What do you see wrong with your H2O's screen? Other than the H2O is displaying a kepub while the Aura is displaying an epub, I don't see that much difference in your images. The lighting looks pretty even on all 3. I did notice that my Aura H2O has a slightly yellower lighting than my Aura HD (both at 29% light level) but nothing that it took me more than 2 minutes to get used to. But then I used to prefer an amber monitor to a green monitor which may be dating myself.

Looking at your next message, they may be using Carta screens but if you look back at the discussions about various front lit ereaders, it seems that different batches have slightly different tints to the LEDs. This has seemed to be the case with Amazon, B&N and Kobo. You might remember the volumes of messages about different Kobo Glo units not having the same colour frontlights.

How about reading on a boat cruising across the lake and getting the occasional spray?
Or reading at a bus stop where wind gusts periodically blow rain in?
Reading at the beach and your eight year old nephew thinks it's funny to dump a pail of water on you?
Reading in the tub and you drop your reader accidentally?

Waterproofing doesn't necessarily require a continuous stream or submersion to be useful.

Is my H2O the only one with no yellow tint? My old HD had yellow, but H2O does not show this at all.

Dark room at 30% light.

I saw one at the store yesterday afternoon. It's definitely a lovely screen - much whiter than the Aura HD they had in display, and clearer/sharper than my Kindle PW1. It's not as blue as the PW1, but it's not very yellow either - more a creamy neutral white.

In my picture the H20 is the one in the middle, the yellow one. I'm getting used to it but I need to see it now in daylight to be sure.
