I would hope they would replace them but I guess it's up to each buyer to contact them direct. They do offer two year warranties so I'd expect a replacement.

When I bought my iPad Air the first Snugg case produced had an issue with the sleep wake function so they emailed me, then replaced the original cover allowing me to keep the faulty one at no extra cost.

I've had no trouble at all getting Gecko to replace a cover where the leather had flaked away on the corner. Rapid cheerful service, and no requirement to return the cover.

I had a similar experience. Sadly, I'll probably have to try if I get a similar response this second time, the replacement cover is showing the same problem.

The cover provides a very good level of protection - you could drop a brick onto it and it wouldn't damage the reader - so it's good from that point of view. The magnetic sleep/wake works fine, too. The downside is that it's extremely thick: about 2.4cm thick, with the Kobo in it; a fraction under 1". So it converts your slim reader into an object the size (although not the weight, it has to be said) of a rather thick paperback book.

I'll keep it for the present - I think it's good value for money for the price - but I'm going to look around for something rather slimmer. Perhaps the official Kobo sleepcover?
Hi! I'm interested in the odyssey case. I want a thick case for maximum protection, but it only has one photo! Can you please post some photos of your case?

Has anyone bought the official Kobo Sleep Cover for the new h2o in the UK ? Can't seem to find them anywhere and the official Kobo website wants to charge me almost £40 postage in addition to the £30 cost of the cover !!

If you buy two from the kobo website the postage is free. I did that and sold the second one to a member I contacted on here. You could either keep it as a spare, sell it via the flea market or pop it on ebay.

I ordered on Saturday last week and they arrived on Thursday, it then cost £4.30 to ship to a UK address using first class recorded post.

I hope this helps.

No one is the UK has them.

There's a seller on Amazon UK who sells them for £10 postage, which is much better than the ludicrous Kobo shipping cost.

Hmm, thanks for the replies, I think I'll wait a while to see if WH Smiths get them in. Currently just using it naked to read, with an old neoprene sleeve to travel but would prefer a proper case for it.

Just got my Gecko cover. Putting a small rectangle of metal cut from the lid of a soup tin behind the device so it covers the magnet position fixed the sleep problem absolutely fine. A minor irritation, but no worse. I like the cover a lot.

Anyone else here having problems with the Kobo h2o sleepcover? Mine doesn't always go to sleep and sometimes it gets woken up withouth opening the cover. I expect a cover of 40 euro's to work properly, but maybe i'm expecting too much.

I bought the sleep cover here, in Canada, and yes you are right its a poor example of workmanship. It holds the reader fine, but the cover slips and slides all over the place due to an extremely weak magnetic latch. very disappointed here. Waiting for a good strong cover to be available on ebay.
Until then, it is what it is. And certainly better then nothing.

I'd recommend the Gecko cover. Half the price of the Kobo cover, has a good strong magnetic fastening, and (with the exception of the very minor issue of having to shield the sleep magnet to stop the Kobo from going to sleep when you folder the cover back) works extremely well.

I don't like the style of the Gecko ones. Its how the unit is secured into the case that counts for a lot to me. The snap into it, similar to kobo's own offering is the style I prefer. But your shielding the clasp has given me an idea! More on this later if it works out.

Gecko probably has a snap-in Slimfit cover on the way - they do them for all the other Kobos, I believe.
