Hey,

A few days back I bought a working second hand Kobo WiFi. It worked, after I connected it with Kobo desktop, I guess it's because of the update that many seem to have problems with. Anyway, since I bought it second hand, I don't think I can really contact Kobo and when I bought it, it was working so I cannot really contact the seller also.

So I started to look around and try some things, but nothing seems to fix the problem. I feel a bit rude for coming to this forum asking for the image, but it might be the only thing that can bring my Kobo back to life, so would anyone mind sharing the sd image?

Not bricked just weird. SD image please?
I just bought a used Wifi (N289)
and it boots ok, but the Books list is empty (preinstalled or mybooks).
Have tried everything.. shows up via usb, I can copy books over but no go.
Have reset to factory defaults..a few times...

I think I need the to restore SD image.

Thank you huge! just back from vacation and found your PM waiting. I flashed the internal SD and still had problems booting. Ended up swapping out the internal SD with another spare 2G card that i had on hand and now everything working perfectly again!

To bad i cant fix my Kindle that i sat on and ruined the display as easily while on vacation. Blame it on the Rum. LOL

Thanks @davidfor the image unfortunately didn't work. I looked at the hardware on the back and the CPU (biggest chip?) has a large "M" on the back so I'll assume a Marvell chip

oh well, I'll have to wait for a Marvell Kobo to bite the dust so it can be imaged...

I also have no way of knowing what firmware I have on this Kobo as I'm not the original owner.. Still been fun trying to get it to work.

as a booby prize I get a 2GB micro sd card!

Yes, the WiFi had two versions, one with a "Marvell 166e SoC" and one with "iMX357 SoC". I haven't seen anything about how to tell them apart. I don't know which version this image came from.

But, what actually happens when you turned it on? Any lights flashing or the screen changed? Something to try is a factory reset using the buttons. From memory, that is done by holding the centre button down while turning it on. If that isn't it, a search here should find it.
