It updates it from what I can tell but only after you sync then reopen the app.

Brian explained it perfectly. With CC and a high res tablet, my e-ink readers are now way behind in functionality. They have a few advantages (size, weight, battery life) but if I was to choose only one, I would choose my Nexus 7.2. I think it has a better battery life than my Nook HD. I was able to wirelessly transfer over 4000 items and it was fast and didn't drain the battery much. (CC drains the battery on my Nook much faster). Plus I am able to switch between my Calibre libraries much quicker (less freezing of Calibre).

If I want to create a reading list, I can add a tag such as 2013 TBR to some books. Next time I connect CC, the tag will be added to the books on the tablet. Then if I want to find my list, just go to 'tags,' '2' and there it is.

I will keep the eink readers I have, but am unlikely to buy any more. They seem outdated and clunky compared to using CC with a good tablet.

Speaking of good tablets...or not...I knew my SIL was going to get one for Christmas so I advised her of the $79 Nook HD black friday sale. So what does she get? Something I never heard of (which is hard to do). The Klu. A 2011 tablet that has like 800 x 480 res. OMG!!! It was $50. I told my DH she might as well have used that $50 for toilet paper. But whatever. She has bad eyesight, so this Klu is sure to be especially bad. She won't open it til Christmas.

Before I waste my time and coins, does the calibre companion work with last years kindle fire HD? I see reviews where some say it doesn't and the developer left a note early this year saying that its not compatible with any fire devices and shouldn't even show up as fire compatible. I am confused.

The app shows up on my fire and in the store, but I guess it shouldn't? I don't have any other tablet.

Yeah, I just saw it even says in the description that it is not compatible with any of the fires. The developer leaves comments in reviews saying it shouldn't even show as compatible in the app store. It shows for me compatible with my Fire HD from last year and the very first fire 7 inch that came out.

Oh well, just thought something to try. Not wasting my coins if it doesn't work. I need them for the stupid games I get hooked on.

Sorry about your cow problems. I get to stare out at a huge bridge they just build on one end of my building, the other side of the apartments they are building a brand new Walmart. Traffic is awful. I think I'd rather look at cows. I miss my out in the middle of nowhere Bavarian village I grew up in. Many cows, not ours though.

Question about audiobooks - I decided to try one today. I got Prey by Linda Howard from FLOP and downloaded it and transferred it to my Clip. It transferred in parts, and they are in backwards order. How does one avoid this? (By the way, the book is good, and the narrator is excellent. I first tried to start "I'm Dreaming of an Undead Christmas" but ew. Couldn't get into it)
