Happy 4th! One of my favorite holidays. I think I will read another American Revolution romance to celebrate!

If you are looking for someone who writes that time period check out Christine Dorsey's books. Only $2.99 a book! All previous published by Zebra. I believe I will start with Traitor's Embrace which I bought just this week. I am slowly collecting all of hers. I also have Scarlet Ribbons by Judith E. French too. Which one to read....FictionDB lists Silver Storm by Cynthia Wright as another one.

Good luck in reading them all! I come to conclusion that will never happen for me. Too many books. I don't feel guilty if I want to read it's there for me waiting.

I was/am in a rush today, but whoever said they bought 'Lick' [by Kylie Scott], I bought and read this one already this week and I thoroughly enjoyed it. [had it on my wishlist for a long time b4 it came out!]

And on a rockstar note, [set in the 80's so I could NOT resist this one!]
$.99 Dear Rockstar by Emme Rollins
Also available at Kobo
blurb: The best things in life are crazy...

Sara is obsessed with rock star Tyler Vincent, and as she works to complete her senior year, she's determined to find a way to meet him--although her best friend, Aimee, keeps telling her to find a different escape from her desperately violent home life.

Complications arise when Dale, the mysterious new transfer student, sets his sights on Sara, and she falls for this rock-star-in-the-making in spite of her better judgment. When Sara wins a contest, she is faced with a choice--travel to Tyler Vincent's home town to meet him, or stay and support Dale in a Battle-of-the-Bands hosted by MTV.

Their triangulated relationship is pushed to its breaking point, but there is another, deeper secret that Dale's been keeping that just may break things wide open...

Turn up your collar, feather your hair, and splash on some Polo, because we're going back to the '80's when MTV played music videos, there was no such thing as American Idol, and becoming a star meant doing nothing short of crazy for that one, big break.

Crimson Romance club

For anyone else who might be interested, I just bought the monthly subscription for the Crimson Romance club. It's normally $12.99 per month, but I thought I'd try to use the promo code Blossom (karma for you) shared a few months ago for $9.99 a month, just to see if it might still work. It did

Here's the link to the Crimson page and the $9.99 code is WDMONTHLY.

Happy 4th to my fellow USA-ers! Be safe out there tonight with all the fireworks (I loooovvvee fireworks... I'm like a 5 year old again)

Happy Fourth!! I think to take your advice, but will read Jude Deveraux's The Raider. It goes with the "masked" man theme I am currently in the mood for because of the movie the Lone Ranger.

Hope you all had a great day.

Oh I want to read that but it's part of a series let me know how stand alone it is. I am reading The Charade by Laura Lee Guhrke and loving it so far.

I love mask man theme books as you know!

Quote:
Raised in the crime-ridden neighborhood of South Boston, Rebecca Sheehan has learned the hard way that people can't be trusted. So when her unscrupulous boyfriend turns up without a pulse, she knows she needs to get out of Southie. Fast.

She seeks refuge in the last place anyone would think to look for her–the picturesque town of Jackson, Wyoming. The locals in this small community live by a different set of standards, as Rebecca discovers when she finds work on a horse ranch. For once in her life, she’s surrounded by genuine, respectable people–with one exception. Her arrogant new boss, Alec Westin, appears hell-bent on making her employment term as short as possible. With his self-righteous attitude, she’d gladly grant him his wish, if she wasn’t so desperate for the job–and if he wasn’t so easy on the eyes.

But after a chance encounter with his quadriplegic father, Rebecca learns the truth behind Alec’s callous façade. Suddenly he is no longer a tyrant, but a diligent man risking his entire livelihood to provide for his family. Moved by Alec's fortitude and his father's warmth, Rebecca finds herself increasingly drawn into their personal affairs–and to Alec. Just when she starts to lower her guard, however, she discovers that her past is catching up with her. A series of sinister threats confirms her greatest fear–she's being hunted. It's only a matter of time before her stalker finds her. And when he does, she’ll discover just how much her new friends are willing to risk–and sacrifice–to protect her.

Hope you all had a nice July 4th!

I figured I'm already over budget this week so took a chance on this $.99 deal today. Heartless by Catou Martine
blurb: Heather Redmond spent three years hiding from the world, her innocence lost and faith shattered.

She’s mastered the art of forgetting the past. Now she’s ready to face the future. College is on the horizon, and she’s enjoying a quiet summer in LA.

The last thing she’s prepared for is a hot guy jumping into her convertible while she's stopped at a traffic light.

Josh Hansen is Heather's opposite. He's fearless and sexy, racing through life on his motorcycle. And he always takes a leap when Fate gives him a wink. He can't resist the wide-eyed, pretty blonde who seems afraid of the world.

Josh is determined to push Heather's boundaries, body and soul. She's afraid of her awakening feelings, and wants to take things one step at a time, but Josh isn’t used to driving in the slow lane, and soon they are speeding into passion and love.

When their darkest secrets come to light, Heather and Josh are forced to confront the painful past and either find forgiveness, or lose their love forever.

GENRE: New Adult Contemporary Romance. Ages 17 +

I also read it a while back, and it is a great book that stands well on it's own. It is not a series as we know them today. Fantastic Fiction Uk says that it is part of 2 series; the Montgomery Series and the 1st of the Taggert series. I say go ahead and read it.

PS I gave ya the indian because surprisingly there is no masked smiley.

Wow I just don't know what to think. I now think Janet Evanovich or at least her daughter Alex is rude. Why?

There is a new author out called Stephanie Evanovich. People are trying to figure out if they are related.

From JE's Facebook page.

Spoiler:
Quote:
Q: Are you and Stephanie Evanovich the same person, or is this another co-author?
A: No. It seems there is an author using the name Stephanie Evanovich. Janet has no association with her work.
Then later came back with
Quote:
Q: Are you and Stephanie Evanovich related?

A: Janet is not related to Stephanie Evanovich Gaspich by blood. Evanovich is Janet's married name. We wish Stephanie the best in her writing career, but it is extremely important to Janet that she is always honest with her readers about co-authored novels and projects she has helped with. You deserve to be treated with respect and gratitude, and to know that "Stephanie Evanovich" and "Janet Evanovich" are two different people and authors.

**Sorry for not posting this part earlier. On Facebook less is usually more, but it seems I should have posted everything we have on the site's daily news this time. -- Alex (webmaster/Janet's daughter)

Now why do I find this rude?

From Stephanie Evanovich's Facebook page:

Spoiler:
Quote:
Q. Is Stephanie related to the author Janet Evanovich?

A. Stephanie Evanovich: Hi Brenda, Janet is my aunt. Her husband and my dad are brothers.
Quote:
Q. ok this might sound really stupid but Im a huge fan of Janet Evanovich, but have never heard of you till now. Is there any relation between you two? will definately check out this book now.

A. Stephanie Evanovich: Hi Tammy! It doesn't sound stupid at all, Janet is my aunt. Sadly, I can't say I swam in the gene pool, she is married to my dad's brother. But I still can proudly say I was inspired by an icon. Thanks for your interest in both me and BGP, I hope it makes it to your reading list. TGIF!!

Wow talk about family discord! I never seen an author on Facebook do anything but promote one another and be positive about other authors. ME thinks Alex has issues with her cousin! Instead of just simply explaining who Stephanie is she dissociates herself from her own cousin!

What do you think about it?
