Oh! I just learned Christie Craig is writing a sequel to Gotcha! Mark will finally have his story told. I am doing a happy dance here!

Gotcha was my first book by her. It has the tampon scene in it. Till this day I have not read anything in a romance book that was funnier. I never laughed so hard reading a scene but it's was great.

Oh and Amanda Rose, Dark Torment, Dark Of The Moon and Desire In The Sun by Karen Robards will soon be available in ebook!

While the chatter is fun, I suspect that many who follow this thread would prefer to see fewer non-free/bargain posts in this thread.

Perhaps a Romance discussion thread could be created over here?

It's never been a problem in all the months these threads have been going on, has someone complained now? Creating another thread isn't quite the same (unless it's really bothering people) as the discussions start because of one bargain or another.

The problem with that is we can't post links to books can we? That is what most of the chatter consists talking about books we bought and their prices. Its mostly on being frugal book buyers with the occasional chit chatter.

Discussion here doesn't bother me....

As for the Sylvia Day series discussed above, I haven't read it, thought about it, but as the whole series is about the same 2 main characters, from what I understand, that kills it for me. I want the romance and the happy ending all in one book. I don't want it spread out over 3 or more books.

I don't mind 3 books but 5 with the same characters and very little plot doesn't sound like something I'd first finish. I read 50 Shades and it lost steam on the third book. It sounds like this series has the same problem.

I don't know anything about what's going on with Sylvia Day's series, but I do have the first 2 books on Mt. TBR. I gather it is going to stretch to 5 books now? If I'd known that, I never would have bought the first one. It's hard enough for me to swallow a trilogy.

I don't mind series in UF due to the the worldbuilding and adventure arcs, but in romance I'm really hating the trend toward serialization and stories told in several parts, especially since most of them would fit in one book if they just had a decent editor. I'm getting to the point where I'm refusing to buy any of them. The good news is that will really help my book budget.

Funny, I was just thinking about how much I enjoy this thread, and the reason I do is that "chatter" is welcomed. It would be nowhere near as fun or informative without it. I love seeing everyone else's opinions of the free and bargain books they've picked up. Different strokes for different folks, I guess.... I hope the additional posting is not limited.

I agree, and I hope nobody has complained. I also agree with what worktolive said, this is a nice little thread and I don't think we veer that far away from romance bargain discussions. I think it would be different if we were here discussing laundry detergent for example. But as others have said, the discussions seldom stray from the main gist of the thread, and I really enjoy them. I hope they get to continue without offending anybody.

As to the Sylvia Day/Crossfire discussion, I agree with most of you. This seems like a money-grab and too dragged out for my taste. After reading just a couple of reviews/comments about it, I'm not interested as it sounds like a rehash [read: stretching out to make money for the author.]

Still haven't bought 1 book today, that's 2 days in a row.

PS: Thanks to pdurrant for the clarification, hope we get to continue!
