What is the difference, aesthetic wise between her Matte vs non-Matte finishes, and is the matte worth the $5.00 more?

glossy has more glare I think, so if you read a lot with reading lights, matte could be the better option, glossy might reflect the light too much.

the glossy also has a slippery feel. the matte almost has, I dunno, hard to describe, a depth to the color

from what I've read, Gelaskins are somewhat inbetween DecalGirl glossy and matte.
I could find the Online Shop for Gelaskin in Germany, but no DecalGirl.
International Shipping from the US seems a little too expensive if you ask me....
(skins4u.de only has DecalGirl for 2nd Gen Kindle, and bad reputation on WOT)
Any tips perhaps?

can you go through Amazon for DecalGirl?

I think the $5 extra for the matte finish is very reasonable. I won't buy anything other than matte finish. That's why I always buy mine from Decal Girl, they offer the matte finish on all of theirs.

I recommend the skins from Decal Girl, specifically the matte ones.

if you browse through the "all about covers" thread you will find all sorts of covers recommended or cautioned against. good luck and have fun accessorizing your Kindle!

Hey my sister just got her Tardis Kindle Leather Cover from Joe V. Leather and I have to say it's the closest I've seen out there. They make it for all kinds of eReader units not just Kindle. Have a look for yourself
