Fall is here! A truly abrupt temperature dive, from humid and 81 F to waking up to 48 F today.

Here, too. After a very unusually warm spell with temperatures in the 80s (F) we had a cold front move through yesterday. At 4:00 it was 80° -- at 5:00 it was 61°.
The high temperature today was 61°, it was cloudy and windy. This is much more what October is supposed to be like. |

After a week of temperatures between 12 and 15C, we get two warm days of 18C, in the afternoon it can get sunny, but there will be scattered showers throughout both days.

It was on the cold side here on Sunday and Monday, but this is what late October is supposed to be. Tuesday it got to about 67 and today up to 75 (F) and it will be the same tomorrow. I am glad it warmed up, because we have had no heat yet and I was very unhappy with how cold it got inside. On Tuesday it was 66 in my apartment. It had been 48 at 7am, but still no heat. I know the super (who lives in the next building) will do nothing until we have a more steady run of 48 degree days (like all day). I go through this every year and text him several times before we get heat and then it's not enough for me and I text him again. I find it depressing to be cold inside. Bring on the fall weather, but give me heat.

We've had a stormy and wet night. It should dry up soon, with some more rain in the early afternoon. It'll stay windy until early evening. After two days of 18C we're now back at temperatures of around 12C.

Yesterday was unusually warm, with a high temperature of 76°F and cloudy skies. Last night a line of strong thunderstorms rolled through followed by very heavy rain associated with a Nor'easter. The rain lasted all night and most of today -- and there are still scattered rain storms passing through.
Most of the area still hasn't fully recovered from the flooding we got with the remnants of Ida, so there are more floods, road closures, etc. (Most of our town is subject to flooding, but we live on high ground and are usually soggy but not flooded.) |

Yesterday was tropical warm & humid - then a strong line of storms rolled through - today is a beautiful blustery fall day.

The nor’easter blew through here last night and knocked out power from midnight until 2 AM. And if you’re going to lose power, that’s pretty ideal - it’s just that when it blows, you don’t know it’ll only be for two hours.
It’s still windy and rainy, so fingers crossed it won’t happen again. And it’s not going out of the 40s today. ![]() |

8° and light rain. Much the same as yesterday and likely the same as tomorrow. We are being promised some sunshine for the weekend though that requires some trust in the weather report.

The sky is pretty dark, it's very windy, and the rain is coming down sideways at times. Not unusual for the time of year, but not October at its best.
