Naxos' one-of-three free album choices is now available.
For this Naxos promotion, you do not have to be a subscriber, member, or whatever. If you are a subscriber, however, check your email for today's messages. Alternatively, I think that going to this webpage will do the job. For your convenience, here are the album choices (in MP3 or FLAC): - Karlowicz: 'Rebirth' Symphony - Bianca da Molena - Haydn: The Seven Last Words of Our Saviour - Fasch: Passio Jesu Christi / Suite in D Minor Last edited by GtrsRGr8; 04-07-2017 at 04:03 PM. |

![]() I went with Karlowicz: 'Rebirth' Symphony. I love symphonies. I've never heard of Karlowicz, but I'm definitely liking this one. I didn't care for Haydn because it was piano and Fasch had singing in it. |

Thanks for the heads up about the Haydn album. That will make one that I will not have to listen to.

Karlowicz has the same number of tracks (6 of them) without singing , but I don't like the music. So, the choice came down to 6 tracks of music that I like or 6 tracks of music that I don't like as much. Now my only decision is, should I take MP3 or take FLAC? ![]() Last edited by GtrsRGr8; 04-07-2017 at 09:06 PM. |

Yes. The Naxos links are coded to the individual email so you must get the newsletter in order to have a working link.

I wasn't sure about the link that I gave--I didn't try to go directly to it--thus, the remark, "I think that this will do the job." I was certain that this offer was one that was available to anyone and everyone, but the first offer of the month (a single album with no choice) was only to newsletter subscribers. I am going to have to go back and see where I went wrong. The moral of the story to everyone who wants these free Naxos albums--just sign up for the newsletter, so that there won't be any question about your eligibility. |

For some reason, I wasn't able to get the album that I selected to download, even using the direct link from their newsletter.
I got through step 1 in the Free Album Offer Guide, but I don't remember seeing step 2 forward. The long and short of it is, the album did not download to my computer. I'm hoping that I'm not going to have to do the exchanging emails thing with Hong Kong to get my album, as I had to do two or three months ago. In fact, if that's what it takes, they can just keep their stupid album. |

I think that since it was your personal link that got posted, someone clicked on that and got their album through your link. And since that link has been used once, it isn't valid any more.

I'm glad that one person, apparently, was able to use the link. I ended up getting my free album, however. I'd rather not say how, in case there is some rule against it. I don't see anything unethical about it, since I only got one album, the number that I was eligible for. And, as I said before, I wasn't about to go through the hassle of exchanging emails with Hong Kong (where Naxos' HQ is, I think), again, in order to get the zip file of the album sent to me. Thanks. If it's Monday, it must be the beginning of a fresh 5-day stretch of free downloads from YourClassical.
Today's is a rendition of an Edward Elgar composition--String Quartet in E Minor: III. Allegro molto. Find out more, including download information, at this dedicated YourClassical webpage for the freebie. Lots of grating violin, IMHO. Last edited by GtrsRGr8; 04-10-2017 at 02:14 AM. |

Computers. Arrrghh!
My wireless router, all of a sudden, without me doing anything that I can think of to cause it, decided that it wasn't "configured correctly." So, I'm hardwired to the modem, located in the garage, right now. I feel like I'm back in the Stone Age. Anyway, with it being Monday, we are entitled to a free download of the week from Classical-music.com. When I say "we," I mean subscribers only. If you're not a subscriber, then join. It's free. The free piece is Julien Brocal plays Chopin's Prelude No. 15 in D flat major. If you're logged in, click on the bright red "Download Now" button, at http://www.classical-music.com/free-...5-d-flat-major, which button should be partially covering the thumbnail of the album cover.
