I went with Karlowicz: 'Rebirth' Symphony. I love symphonies. I've never heard of Karlowicz, but I'm definitely liking this one.

I didn't care for Haydn because it was piano and Fasch had singing in it.

I've got to go with Fasch. I don't like the singing in it, either. But, I do like the 6 tracks before the section where the singing begins.

Karlowicz has the same number of tracks (6 of them) without singing , but I don't like the music.

So, the choice came down to 6 tracks of music that I like or 6 tracks of music that I don't like as much.

Now my only decision is, should I take MP3 or take FLAC?

I think this is your personal link. I tried this first and the website said the album had already been claimed. I then hunted up my email from Naxos and that link worked for me.

Yes. The Naxos links are coded to the individual email so you must get the newsletter in order to have a working link.

Thanks, and sorry for the misinformation.

I wasn't sure about the link that I gave--I didn't try to go directly to it--thus, the remark, "I think that this will do the job."

I was certain that this offer was one that was available to anyone and everyone, but the first offer of the month (a single album with no choice) was only to newsletter subscribers. I am going to have to go back and see where I went wrong.

The moral of the story to everyone who wants these free Naxos albums--just sign up for the newsletter, so that there won't be any question about your eligibility.

For some reason, I wasn't able to get the album that I selected to download, even using the direct link from their newsletter.

I got through step 1 in the Free Album Offer Guide, but I don't remember seeing step 2 forward. The long and short of it is, the album did not download to my computer.

I'm hoping that I'm not going to have to do the exchanging emails thing with Hong Kong to get my album, as I had to do two or three months ago. In fact, if that's what it takes, they can just keep their stupid album.

I think that since it was your personal link that got posted, someone clicked on that and got their album through your link. And since that link has been used once, it isn't valid any more.

Yeah, I'm beginning to see that, from your message, and several PM ones (sent PM so as not to embarrass me publicly?) from MobileReaders.

I'm glad that one person, apparently, was able to use the link.

I ended up getting my free album, however. I'd rather not say how, in case there is some rule against it. I don't see anything unethical about it, since I only got one album, the number that I was eligible for. And, as I said before, I wasn't about to go through the hassle of exchanging emails with Hong Kong (where Naxos' HQ is, I think), again, in order to get the zip file of the album sent to me.

Computers. Arrrghh!

My wireless router, all of a sudden, without me doing anything that I can think of to cause it, decided that it wasn't "configured correctly." So, I'm hardwired to the modem, located in the garage, right now. I feel like I'm back in the Stone Age.
