Congrats from us to your son !
We go hiking regularly with both kids, and our son can now hike for as long as we do, we still need to slow down and do short ones with our daughter, but they have stamina. It is very nice to go hiking all together, we are building memories

I managed, two 12 ounce cups of rooibos Plum Cinnamon, two 12 ounces cups of Three Kingdoms (A green tea of some sort from Teavana), 2 12 ounce servings of camels Breath Pu Erh, and two 12 ounce servings of Keemun on the flights. All but two of those were drunk on one flight, the one I had an aisle seat so I could get up and get hot water and go to the bathroom without disturbing anyone.

And several bottles of water. And OJ.

When I finished unpacking at the hotel I went and got a good burger, fries, and a beer. Then a nice walk on the beach which only made me wish that I had my hubby with me. Or a friend. Hawaii is a great place to travel for work but it is even better when you have someone to enjoy it with.

Off to research hikes that I can do on Friday and maybe find a whale watching trip for Saturday.
Hawaii is a dream of mine. I lived in La Jolla for a while, and was afterwards very often in California, or in Singapore (the other way around ), but never made it to Hawaii. I secretly hope that S will get us some tickets for my next big 0, but I am not sure this will happen (and it is still a long time away).

We believe that the undead don't exist in the flesh, instead, we strongly think that they're invisible (of course there are those who can "see" them, but that's rare). And that's what scare us to death: invisible (or partly visible) forces.

Just imagine there's some undead sitting right next to you but you don't see them... even scarier than visible zombies

That difference in fear between us originated from you being rationalist and us being idealistic
I understand this very well. Not scared of vampires, nor zombies, but quite scared of my fellow human beings and how they can turn out to be under extreme circumstances. Vamps are puppies in comparison....

Edited to say : also very scared of clowns. Do not know why, but don't like them at all.

We have our landline and our broadband back, after 24 hours without, and it is not even a storm but our usual tropical rain. I called with my mobile the urbanization phone and internet provider this morning and explained, nicely but very firmly, that this is unacceptable, since the same thing happens every time it rains, and that I will look into alternatives and present it at the next urb general meeting in December. 20 minutes later, tops, phone and internet was back. I hate it that you have to menace to get the service you are paying for! But they really need to revise completely the electrical connection of the main dispatcher, and to do so in a week of good weather, because just running there every time it rains and start it manually again is not going to solve the problem.
It is the only thing that I find very annoying in the mentalities here: the complete lack of planning ahead, and the solving of problems ad hoc as they come, although they are completely predictable and so of course also avoidable. So they are always fixing a tad here, a tad there, but never solving the main problem. Since I am a Six Sigma black belt, and specialized in risk prediction and process capabilities, the way things are done here often drives me bananas.
Qué sera, sera...... I know

It's nice to have my own tea again though. So this morning I'm starting off with some East India Company's "Assam" tea, and a plate of Engrish Muffins. Somehow, Japanese English muffins just don't taste the same... The tea sure tastes great, though! Think I'll have another cup and catch up with all the past posts before I go for a ride!

Thanks! As far as one can 'enjoy' a hospital visit and surgery, yes I did! Almost pleasant! No pain. Nothing serious. And nice folks around me.

And now home and enjoying a Mango Lassi! Delish!
