Our weather has finally caught up with the calendar. In the past week our daily high temperature (high, mind you!) has progressed from 52° (F) last Saturday, through the 60's, to 76° today. The sky was at least partly sunny and there was a good breeze. Everyone in the neighborhood had run their lawn mowers, weed whackers and garden tractors earlier in the week, so I was able to listen to the local birds while I was out on the deck.

Not a bad day.

Wet and cold. It's raining and it's predicted to rain until at least mid-afternoon. Temperatures will reach around 13C, where it's normally around 19C this time of year.

It's been a wet and cold spring. Normally this time of year the groundwater should be a little too low, but despite three dry years that isn't case right now. Sure we've had some sunny and warm days.

I've never felt so much in need of sunny and warmer weather than this year. Though I hope we don't have a record breaking heat wave like the last three years.

We fell back into March weather for a while, and then had three days of rain. Today, however, was beautiful. The afternoon temperature was in the mid-70s (F) and it was mostly sunny. By next week we should be in August, with temperatures in the 90s and a surge in the humidity.

And our first mosquitoes of the year have appeared.
