If I was ever hit by a sudden fancy for a woman of the second kind, I might remember to look up some of those robots first. Of course, if my sudden fancy would be for a particular individual rather than a general aspect or type, than I would gladly accept what the goddess has decided to bestow me with, and enjoy what there is to be enjoyed. Up to now she has been trying my faith in her with very simple although generous tests.

I went to an Ear, Nose, and Throat doctor this morning because my left ear has been feeling quite plugged up for the last few days. I've even had to turn up the volume on my hearing aid for that ear.

I think Audiologists must be trained like that, everyone I have seen is exactly the same, except for one who asked if women complained that I didn't listen to then, she told me I had a good excuse, I'm deaf in the range that most women talk at. I've got severe tinnitus in both ears, all those years at the range using cheap hearing protection I guess.

What is it with doctors relying on their fancy equipment instead of doing an exam? I went to get an update for the reading glasses and they couldn't give me a normal exam so I had the electronic automatic whiz bang machine thingy and after seeing the results were so different that the prescription I was wearing, I decided to go somewhere else. The normal exam showed the machine to be out a lot, -30 on one side and +20 on the other.
Funny thing was when I went in for a test involving a little camera, they gave me a dvd copy of the exam, weird, nasty and fun to show unsuspecting house guests

Actually, this doctor proceeded to remove his mask so that I could read his lips, which I thought was pretty nice. Unfortunately he had no idea why my ear felt plugged up, which is why I went to him in the first place....

He gave me several different pills to take, one of which I assume to be a decongestant. I haven't looked them up yet to see exactly what they are. Hopefully, they will clear up my ear and I can go back to being just stone deaf instead of not hearing as well as I did last month.

On a brighter note, I'm enjoying my singing and guitar playing MUCH more.

hmm told my family i was going to buy a kindle, and my brother looked at me sort of condescendingly ( i felt) and said, "you do know you need to buy ebooks?"

lol. and i was thinking, "yeah, only if you're an idiot." <-- in the sense that there are also free ebooks to be had legally and he doesn't seem aware of them and seems to give me the impression that i have to buy all the time. of course, you'd need to buy if the book you really want to read isn't free.

more or less i am in a similar situation. I have only one experience, of a guy that worked where I worked in Canada (i did not know him personally, I might have met him at some occasion) that I saw years later at a conference in her new capacity. Looked vaguely familiar, although the mannerisms had rotated 180 degrees (neither centigrade nor Fahrenheit). Ugly though, make up and not only needed adjustment. Being a tall, bony individual, rather horsey in looks, the whole thing made me sad. For just a moment as at that time I was seeing a Norwegian blond she-colleague that had manifested interest in my opinion on her butterflies collection. She actually had, and still has I imagine, a small tattoo of one. I wonder what happened of her.
