What I think needs to be pushed is a law - a legal requirement - that mandates a notification on eBook sales pages. Like the cigarette manufacturers were forced to include on their packaging. "Truth in advertising", so to speak.

For Amazon, it might read something like this:

Warning: This eBook is digitally restricted and can only be used on Amazon devices, that are registered to an Amazon account, that are allowed an internet connection to Amazon servers.

I wasn't paying attention to what I was trying to download. The first couple of books were Kindle Unlimited and the Download & Transfer option isn't there so I must have used the Free option instead of the Pay $1.99 option. I did finally find it on the ones I paid for, thank god! I really need to do this more often so that I remember what works and what doesn't.

Since NNolan mentioned sideloading, I think they have run into the no Download and Transfer option for loans.

There are instructions in the first post which are unclear. Please add instructions on how to get the key out of BS, if you haven't already. They are not quite the same as for an Android device, such as a phone. Not everyone is familiar with Bluestacks.

If you look at the first post, there's a link to another thread which explains this. I explained how to get adb to link up to Bluestacks.

Detailed instructions about DRM removal aren't allowed on MR. But there is a link to them in the first post (in the Kindle for Android thread, not here).

The problem is that yes, we read the firs post, but going back to read it again, that is a rare event.

That is the problem. Editing a post and expecting people to routinely go back and re-read posts they've already read - in case somebody happened to edit one of them - is not a realistic expectation. Especially when the thread may be over a thousand posts long.

Better, IMHO, would be to make editorial changes in a new post at the end of the thread, then go back to the first post and add "This post has been modified, go to <URL pointing to the new post>". On many forums, and this one may not be one of them, you are limited in the length of time you are allowed to go back and modify a previous post. So even a plan to go back and update the first post as I just described can fail. You sometimes see similar evidence of this in forums where the thread author is not familiar with this limited timeframe. You'll see the original first post followed by a bunch of "reserved for future use" posts, but those reserved spaces are never used because the time limit to update them has expired. Reserving space is a nice thought if you expect the information in a thread to continue to grow over time, but it is often thwarted by forum settings.
