According to the author's Twitter, it's the last time at this price.
The description at Amazon suggests this is a serial. Does anyone know if this collection has a natural end, or does it end on a cliffhanger?

https://www.kobo.com/us/en/ebook/the...new-york-city/

A travel writer takes a job with a shady publishing company in New York, only to find that she must write a guide to the city - for the undead!
Because of the disaster that was her last job, Zoe is searching for a fresh start as a travel book editor in the tourist-centric New York City. After stumbling across a seemingly perfect position though, Zoe is blocked at every turn because of the one thing she can't take off her resume --- human.
Not to be put off by anything -- especially not her blood drinking boss or death goddess coworker -- Zoe delves deep into the monster world. But her job turns deadly when the careful balance between human and monsters starts to crumble -- with Zoe right in the middle.
Also at Amazon

If you haven't read it yet, The Golem and the Jinni is on sale at Amazon for $1.99.

Blurb:
Quote:
In The Golem and the Jinni, a chance meeting between mythical beings takes readers on a dazzling journey through cultures in turn-of-the-century New York.

Chava is a golem, a creature made of clay, brought to life to by a disgraced rabbi who dabbles in dark Kabbalistic magic and dies at sea on the voyage from Poland. Chava is unmoored and adrift as the ship arrives in New York harbor in 1899.

Ahmad is a jinni, a being of fire born in the ancient Syrian desert, trapped in an old copper flask, and released in New York City, though still not entirely free

Ahmad and Chava become unlikely friends and soul mates with a mystical connection. Marvelous and compulsively readable, Helene Wecker's debut novel The Golem and the Jinni weaves strands of Yiddish and Middle Eastern literature, historical fiction and magical fable, into a wondrously inventive and unforgettable tale.

Today's B&N Readouts "Free Fridays" selection is The Reluctant Swordsman by Dave Duncan, published by Open Road.

It's currently free at Barnes & Noble.

It's still around $7 at the other stores, but Kobo offers price-matching credit (this is probably a one-day deal, so take screenshots in case Kobo tries to verify the price after it's no longer free). Google and Amazon sometimes match prices by the end of the day, but haven't yet.

It's not currently free at Kobo. You would need to buy it for $7.19 (or $6.47 if you're a VIP member), and then price match it, and in a few days, you'd get Kobo store credit for your purchase price. I don't know if Kobo price matches in the Singapore store, but I don't think they would price match a US sale price.

I see they haven't fixed things from last year, had to sign up for the e-mail list again, despite signing up on the free book last month, and following the link from the e-mail they sent me this month.

Here's a direct link to their Free eBook of the Month Club page.

Wouldn't mind having it, but I'm not updating my credit card for a free book B&N. I'll try to keep an eye out on Google and Amazon in case they price match. Thanks for sharing!

I have the same issue every month but just confirm my email address a second time and it takes me to the download page, would be nice if they would fix this but there is no need to sign up again.

For those of you having this problem, does your browser automatically fill in your email address? If so, try back-spacing and retyping the last letter of your email address before you click the button or hit Enter. Many web forms have a security feature that tries to detect whether a person actually typed into a field rather than a bot or other program.

I'm reluctant to post the work of a man who flouts common decency by getting his names completely the wrong way round.

Walker Percy Love in the Ruins: The Adventures of a Bad Catholic at a Time Near the End of the World for $2.99 at Amazon.com

Here a couple from Stanislaw Lem. A very Polished writer. The ASIN has been changed on each of the following. Check your content before purchasing.

The Cyberiad: Stories for $1.99 at Amazon.com.

A Perfect Vacuum for $1.99 at Amazon.com. Not necessarily SF but everyone needs a good vacuum cleaner. How much more so the perfect vacuum cleaner.

Amazon having a perfect vacuum cleaner would explain why they keep flogging all those Dyson ones on Woot.
