I had a Alert from Audible that my card wouldn't go through for my monthly membership.

I immediately thought it had to do with the Target fiasco. It turns out somehow the billing address changed for my card.

I have no clue how that happened. It worked last month and earlier this month fine. So my guess is there was glitch in the system so if you get a notice like that don't panic check your Card's billing address.

I had thought the cards were linked to Amazon's account but maybe they are not now because the billing address there was correct but not at Audible so maybe something has change since last month?

Say, is anyone out there interested in freebie WMA audiobooks if they are available through the Overdrive app? I've avoided posting them thinking no one would be interested in the Windows format, but when I saw they were Overdrive I thought some of you library borrowers who use the app already might be interested.

Very well, then. AudiobookStand is a download service owned by Brillance Audio, so it is a legitimate source. Right now they have two free full-length titles available that I can find:

* Map of Bones by James Rollins
* A Night to Surrender by Tessa Dare

The first was available previously (in mp3 format) from BooksOnBoard before its unfortunate demise so it might already be in your library. Both are in WMA format and the site uses Overdrive for delivery.

The OverDrive app doesn't support WMA, so how are you doing this?

Also, keep in mind that the vast majority of OverDrive library books are in WMA. Therefore, that format is very important to library users.

See, there I go with the ASSuming again. I know the freebies are available. I know they come through Overdrive. So I assumed they worked with the Overdrive app. I only use Overdrive through my computer so I was unaware of this limitation.

No problem. OverDrive WMA audiobooks require a Windows PC to download and transfer. Nothing else will work.

I got both of them! After you download them to your
PC you can transfer them to Any WMA listing device.. mine is a Sansa Clip! No way I be listening to a 14 + Hour Audio & have to sit at my PC LOL

Please keep posting the WMAs!!

Thanks...i don't mind them at all either...you can always burn to disc or convert with the right tools.

Most protected DL can be burned to disk, but for some reason both of these cannot be - legitimately. Good point on the convert.
